The Singhania's private jet touched down smoothly on the sun-baked runway, its sleek exterior gleaming under the afternoon light. The moment the door opened, a burst of warm air swept inside, carrying with it the distinct scent of earth and summer heat.
Vaidaksh stepped out first, exuding quiet authority, his black shades hiding the calm determination in his eyes. The sunlight caught the subtle sheen of his skin, making him look impossibly composed. His fitted black shirt paired with a beige blazer framed him perfectly, highlighting his confident posture and dignified air.
Krithvik followed close behind, having swapped his earlier outfit for a crisp white full-sleeved t-shirt paired with comfortable blue denim jeans, a relaxed yet sharp look that suited him. The breeze ruffled their hair slightly as they descended the jet's stairs, the afternoon sun casting a golden glow over them.
On the ground, their team of men was already in place, coordinating the transfer of large boxes filled with medicines, supplies, and essential medical equipment. Their experienced staff worked efficiently, knowing every second was valuable.
Since they had landed at a city airport, they still had a five-hour road journey ahead to reach the remote village where the medical camp was scheduled. Their other doctors and medical staff had arrived on a separate flight and were gathering near a waiting mini-bus that had been arranged for their transport.
Vaidaksh, always drawn to the freedom of driving, chose to take the wheel himself rather than rely on a driver. Sliding into the car with a practiced ease, he adjusted the mirror and cast a quick look of determination toward the road ahead. Krithvik settled comfortably in the passenger seat, sharing a silent understanding with him about the long journey and their shared mission.
Krithvik: "Dekhiye bhai 2.5 hours ke baad main drive karunga, Varna vahi utar jaunga samjhe aapki dadagiri nahi chalegi"
(Look, bro, after 2.5 hours I will drive, otherwise I'll just get out right there, okay? Your bossing around won't work.)
Vaidaksh: "Ek kaam kar, abhi utar ja aur bus me sabke sath aa"
(Here's an idea: get out right now and come with everyone else by bus.)
Krithvik: "Nahi phir aap bore ho jaoge, chalega aap drive karo main aapko pareshan... I mean entertain karta hu"
(No, then you'll get bored. It's fine, you drive, I'll bother - I mean entertain you.)
Krithvik grinned at his own thoughts, while Vaidaksh chuckled at his antics and began driving.
By evening, around 7 PM, darkness had settled over the village, wrapping it in a gentle hush. The faint glow of lanterns, flickering diyas, and a string of electric lights lent a warm, welcoming atmosphere, casting long shadows on the mud walls and cobbled paths. The soft hum of crickets mixed with the occasional bark of village dogs, painting a picture of rustic calm.
As the headlights cut through the dimness, Vaidaksh and Krithvik's car rolled smoothly into the village square. After some playful resistance on the highway, Krithvik had insisted on driving the last stretch, claiming it would be more "fun" to navigate the narrow village lanes. He stepped out first, a confident grin on his face, followed by Vaidaksh, whose composed elegance radiated even in the lantern light.
Behind them, the mini-bus carrying the team of doctors and medical staff pulled up, rumbling to a stop as curious villagers gathered to catch a glimpse of the team that had come to help them.
Standing near the entrance of the village community center, the sarpanch and a few respected members of the panchayat were waiting, their faces lit with a mix of gratitude and anticipation. The air was thick with respect and a hopeful excitement.
Vaidaksh stepped forward, a gracious smile on his face, and joined his hands in a respectful namaste. Krithvik mirrored the gesture with a friendly nod, acknowledging the villagers warmly. Their presence immediately set the tone of trust and compassion, making it clear they had come not just as doctors, but as allies and well-wishers of the village.
Vaidaksh: "Namaste"
(Greetings)
Even the Sarpanch joined his hands respectfully, and the other members followed suit, offering their gestures of welcome and respect as well.
Sarpanch: "Namaste Dactor Babu, hum eii gaav me sarpanch hai, aur eii sab panchayat samithi ke sadasya"
(Namaste, Doctor Saab. I am the village head here, and these are members of the panchayat committee.)
Krithvik: "Namaste. I am Dr. Krithvik Khanna, a neurologist. I completed my studies in London, followed by my master's as well, you know I was a gold medallist..."
Krithvik came to an abrupt halt when he noticed Vaidaksh standing there, arms crossed and glaring at him. The villagers looked on in confusion, trying to make sense of the situation. Krithvik could only offer a sheepish smile, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
Sarpanch: "Dactor Babu, maaf karna hum sabko itni angrezi nahi aati"
(Doctor Saab, forgive us - we don't know so much English.)
Krithvik rubbed the back of his neck with a sheepish smile, lowering his head in embarrassment. Vaidaksh could only shake his head with an amused smile, unable to stay annoyed for long.
Vaidaksh: "Ji main Dr. Vaidaksh Singhania and ye hai Dr. Krithvik Khanna, aur ye hai humari team. Humari request... Mera matlab humari vinti swikaar karne ke liye bahaut bahaut shukriya"
(Right. I am Dr. Vaidaksh Singhania, and this is Dr. Krithvik Khanna, and this is our team. Thank you very, very much for accepting our request... I mean our humble appeal.)
Sarpanch: "Kaisi baatein kar rahe hai Dactor Babu, aap hum sabki bhalayi ke liye itna kaam kar rahe hai yaha ye sab aspataal ki suvidhaye laaye hai, hum aap shukar guzaar hai."
(What are you saying, Doctor Saab? You all are working so hard for everyone's welfare, bringing these hospital facilities here - we are grateful to you.)
Vaidaksh: "Areh ye toh humara dharm hai"
(Oh, this is our duty.)
Then, a village member stepped forward and carefully placed garlands around the necks of both Vaidaksh and Krithvik, honoring them with a warm and traditional welcome.
Krithvik: "Areh iski kya.."
(Oh, what's the big deal-)
Villager: "Bas hum thodi khatirdari karna chahiye rahe the"
(We just wanted to give you a bit of a welcome ceremony.)
Krithvik: "Areh vo theek hai, par main ek ladka hu, varmala aap kyu daal rahe hai??"
(That's fine, but I'm a man - why are you putting a garland on me like this??)
The villagers exchanged puzzled glances with one another, clearly unsure how to react, while Vaidaksh sighed and brought his hand to his forehead in a classic facepalm, exasperated by the situation.
Vaidaksh: "Kuch nahi kuch nahi, chaliye chalte hai"
(Nothing, nothing - let's go.)
Sarpanch: 'Dactor Babu, vaise aap sabke rehne ka intezam toh ek mehmaan ghar me Kiya hai, par agar aap bhagwan ko mante hai toh aaj gaav me ramleela ayojit ki gayi hai, kya aap aana pasand karenge??"
(Doctor Saab, by the way, we've arranged accommodation for all of you in one house, but if you believe in God, today there's a Ramleela being organized in the village. Would you like to come?)
Vaidaksh: "Areh hum zarur aayenge, pehle vahi le chaliye"
(Of course, we'd love to come - please take us there first.)
Krithvik: "Par humara samaan??"
(But what about our luggage?)
Villager: "Aap jaiye, aapka samaan hum le jate hai Ghar."
(You go ahead, we'll take your luggage to the house.)
Vaidaksh and Krithvik nodded in agreement and left alongside the sarpanch. A few of the doctors accompanied them, ready to assist, while others, exhausted from the long journey, chose to rest for a while.
In the Ramleela pandaal,
The Ramleela was in full swing, breathing life and color into the heart of the village. Bright lights illuminated the modest stage, where actors in vibrant costumes brought the age-old epic to life with powerful dialogues and grand gestures.
The villagers sat together on woven mats spread across the open ground, their faces glowing with excitement and reverence. On one side, a small group had gathered with dhols and a harmonium, their rhythmic beats and soulful bhajans weaving a devotional melody into the night air.
Children ran and played below the stage, their laughter mingling with the rhythmic chanting and the occasional cheer from the audience. Vendors moved among the crowd, selling small clay lamps, sweets, and steaming cups of chai, adding their own charm to the festive scene.
The environment buzzed with joy and community spirit, as if every corner of the village pulsed with celebration, faith, and a timeless love for the traditions that brought them all together.
Amidst the gentle chorus of ladies singing bhajans, Siyanshi sat beside her friend Gauri, though restlessness flickered in her eyes. Draped in a stunning red anarkali dress that swayed softly with every movement, Siyanshi struggled to find peace in the solemn atmosphere.
Gauri: "Kya hua??"
(What happened?)
Siyanshi: "Pata nahi, bahaut bechaini ho rahi hai"
(I don't know, I'm feeling really uneasy.)
Gauri: "Areh achanak kaise?? Theek toh hai na??"
(How come all of a sudden? Are you okay?)
Siyanshi: "Haa, bas thodi khuli hawa me jaake aati hu, pani bhi pi lungi"
(Yeah, I just need to get a bit of fresh air and drink some water.)
Gauri: "Jaldi aana, dhanush todne wala pal aane wala hai aur agla bhajan main gaane wali hu, pata hai na kuch bhi ho jab tak pandit ji hawan karte h bhajan nahi rukne chahiye"
(Come back quickly, the bow-breaking scene is about to happen, and I have to sing the next devotional song. You know, no matter what happens, the bhajans must continue while the priest is performing the ritual.)
Siyanshi: "Hmmm"
Siyanshi's heartbeat quickened, pounding in her chest as if warning her that something was about to happen. Unable to shake the uneasy feeling, she stood up and slipped quietly away from the crowd, seeking a moment of fresh air. Grabbing a glass of water, she took a slow sip and then gently rubbed her chest, trying to steady herself amid the rising tension.
Siyanshi: "Ye kaisi ajeeb si feeling hai, aisa toh pehle kabhi nahi hua mujhe. Is something really wrong with me?"
(What is this strange feeling? I've never felt like this before. Is something really wrong with me?)
Siyanshi walked around for a few minutes, trying to calm her restless mind.
On the other side, Vaidaksh and Krithvik stepped into the pandaal, engaged in conversation with the Sarpanch about the village's needs and the plans for their upcoming medical camp. Their voices blended with the soft hum of the gathering, reflecting their commitment to serve the community.
Sarpanch: "Aap log vaha baith jaiye, hum aate hai"
(Please have a seat over there, I'll be right back.)
Vaidaksh: "Jiii"
(Yes.)
The Sarpanch and his men soon moved on, leaving Vaidaksh to walk ahead, taking in the sights around him with quiet attentiveness. Suddenly, he placed a hand on his chest and rubbed it gently, a flicker of discomfort crossing his face as if something unseen was troubling him.
Vaidaksh: "ye kya ho raha hai?? Achanak se palpitations kyu ho rahe hai mujhe??"
(What is happening to me? Why am I suddenly getting palpitations?)
Vaidaksh frowned, murmuring quietly to himself as he tried to make sense of the uneasy feelings stirring within him. Noticing his brother's discomfort, Krithvik reached out and gently placed a reassuring hand on Vaidaksh's shoulder, silently offering his support.
Krithvik: "What happened, bhai? All good?"
Vaidaksh: "Ahh yeahh, chal vaha jaake dekhte hai Ramleela"
(Ah, yeah, yeah - come on, let's go see the Ramleela over there.)
Krithvik gave a subtle nod and stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the unfolding spectacle. Vaidaksh, though wrestling with a swirl of emotions, pushed them aside and followed silently behind.
They found a spot a little away from the crowd, where the entire Ramleela stage was visible in all its vibrant glory. The scene playing out before them was the much-anticipated moment where Lord Ram was to lift the dhanush-the divine bow.
A man dressed as Lord Ram stepped forward with measured grace, his costume glowing softly under the stage lights. The audience held their breath, eyes wide with curiosity and awe, waiting to see if the actor could accomplish the feat.
In the background, near the cluster of women, the steady strains of bhajans floated gently through the air, carried by the rhythmic beats of the dhol and the sweet notes of the harmonium. The devotional music lent a sacred atmosphere to the performance, making the moment feel even more profound.
Sheesh Siya ke chunar sohe
Teeke ki chhavi nyaari hai
Nyaari nyaari kya kahiye
Raghuwar Janaki pyaari hai
The man dressed as Lord Ram stepped forward confidently, ready to lift the Dhanush, the crowd holding their breath in anticipation. But suddenly, his foot caught in the folds of his dhoti, and he stumbled awkwardly. With a startled gasp from the audience, he tumbled forward, crashing directly onto the table that held the sacred bow.
The impact sent the table teetering dangerously. The Dhanush slipped and flew into the air for a fleeting moment, as if suspended in time before gravity claimed it.
Vaidaksh's sharp eyes caught the impending disaster instantly. Before the man could fully fall, and more importantly, before the child playing near the stage was endangered, Vaidaksh sprang into action. He dashed toward the stage, his legs pumping with urgency, and knelt just in time to reach out and cradle the child. But before his hands could close around the boy, a pair of soft, delicate hands shot forward, wrapping gently yet firmly around the child, pulling him to safety.
Vaidaksh's instincts kicked in just in time as he reached out and grabbed the Dhanush hurtling toward them. But the force was too strong-the sacred bow cracked sharply in his hands, a harsh sound that cut through the evening air. Almost immediately, the table beneath gave way and crashed down heavily on Vaidaksh's back.
A sharp jolt of pain shot through him, making him squeeze his eyes shut momentarily. As he staggered, the cloth that had been draped over the table slipped loose and tumbled down, enveloping him, the child, and the mysterious person who had saved the boy. Despite the chaos, the soft strains of the bhajan continued in the background, lending an almost surreal calmness to the scene.
Vaidaksh slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the dim light under the cloth. The girl in front of him lifted her gaze as well, and in that intimate, quiet moment, his hand rested protectively on her shoulder, steadying her. Their eyes met, her deep, mesmerizing blue locking with his intense black. The world seemed to pause, the weight of the moment hanging heavy in the air between them, filled with unspoken connection and an inexplicable spark.
Tum utho Siya shringaar karo
Shiv dhanush Ram ne toda hai
Shiv dhanush Ram ne toda hai
Sita se naata joda hai
Tum utho Siya shringaar karo
Tum utho Siya shringaar karo
Shiv dhanush Ram ne toda hai
Shiv dhanush Ram ne toda hai
Sita se naata joda hai
Tum utho Siya shringaar karo
They stood still beneath the veil of cloth, the world around them dissolving into a blur of distant sounds and muted colors. Their eyes locked with an intensity so profound that it felt as if time itself had paused to honor this fragile connection.
Vaidaksh's grip on her shoulder gently loosened, yet his gaze remained unwavering, as though drawn by an invisible thread only they could see. A sudden spark-electric and unexpected-coursed through his body, igniting every nerve with a thrilling warmth. Despite this surge, his eyes never strayed from the depths of her sapphire-blue gaze.
Siyanshi, too, felt the crackle of that spark. The touch of his hand sent a shiver cascading down her spine, yet she was too engrossed in the moment to fully process the sensation. Her eyes, wide and unblinking, were riveted on the dark, soulful depths of his black eyes-each holding a silent story, an unspoken promise.
In that suspended moment of pure, unspoken understanding, a single tear broke free from each of their eyes, tracing delicate paths down their cheeks. Neither noticed the silent fall-each lost in the other's presence, unaware that they shared the same unguarded, quiet release of emotion. It was a moment fragile as a whisper yet as powerful as the beating of a thousand hearts, a secret exchanged in silence, held sacred between them alone.
The villagers and Krithvik rushed over in alarm, their faces pale with shock-everything had unfolded in mere seconds. But amidst the chaos, Siyanshi and Vaidaksh stood locked in a steady gaze, their breaths heavy but eyes calm, as if the world around them had momentarily paused.
Krithvik swiftly pulled the cloth away from them, revealing their disheveled appearances, before firmly gripping Vaidaksh's arm to steady him. Almost immediately, the child's mother appeared, rushing forward to wrap her arms tightly around her son, relief flooding her face. At the same time, Gauri stepped in gently, pulling Siyanshi into a comforting embrace, her presence a quiet anchor amid the tension.
Gauri: "Siyanshi Thik hai tu??"
(Siyanshi, are you okay?)
Krithvik: "Bhai aap theek hai na??"
(Bro, are you okay?)
Siyanshi and Vaidaksh remained silent, their eyes locked on each other. The rapid palpitations they had felt moments before gradually softened, replaced by an unfamiliar but comforting sense of calm that settled quietly between them.
Sarpanch: "Dactor Babu aap theek hai na??"
(Doctor Saab, are you alright?)
Vaidaksh remained silent, lost in the moment, until Krithvik gently shook him to snap him out of it. Slowly, Vaidaksh diverted his gaze from Siyanshi and looked over at Krithvik, finally breaking the silence.
Krithvik: "Bhai, kya hua?? Kahi lagi toh nahi aapko??"
(Bro, what happened? Did you get hurt somewhere?)
Vaidaksh: "H..ha ha main theek hu"
(Y-yeah, I'm fine.)
Vaidaksh glanced back at Siyanshi, who had now turned her attention to a conversation with her friend, her restless expression replaced by a calm smile.
Gauri: "Theek hai tu Siyanshi???"
(Are you okay, Siyanshi?)
Siyanshi: "Haa haa bilkul theek hu, bas vo bachcha"
(Yes, yes, I'm absolutely fine, it was just about that child.)
Lady: "Bahaut bahaut dhanyawad aap dono ka humare bachche ko bachane ke liye"
(Thank you so, so much to both of you for saving my child.)
The lady folded her hands respectfully in front of Siyanshi, offering a warm gesture of greeting before turning her attention toward Vaidaksh with a gentle smile.
Vaidaksh: "Areh nahi please, aap hath mat jodiye is tarah, it's my duty"
(Oh no, please, don't join your hands like that - it's my duty.)
Sarpanch: "Maaf karna dactor Babu, pata nahi kaise ho gaya"
(Forgive us, Doctor Saab - I don't know how this even happened.)
Krithvik: "Areh, aise kaise pata nahi, bhai ko lag jati toh?? Bhai ne dekha nahi hota toh us lady ko and us bachche ko... How irresponsible behaviour is this"
(What do you mean you don't know? Bro could have been badly hurt! If he hadn't seen them in time, that lady and her child - that is so irresponsible.)
Vaidaksh: "Just leave it, Krithvik. It was an accident, it's not their fault, so let it go."
Krithvik: "But bhai, you could have gotten seriously injured."
Vaidaksh: "Krithuuuu"
Krithvik: "Fine"
Sarpanch: "Ji maaf kar dijiye"
(Please forgive us.)
Vaidaksh: "Areh Sarpanch ji koi baat nahi ye sab toh hota rehta hai, jaane dijiye"
(Oh Sarpanch ji, it's alright. These things happen, don't worry.)
Sarpanch: "Aiye hum aapko aapki kothi dikha de jaha aapke rehne ka intezaam kiya hai"
(Please, let me show you the house where we have arranged for you to stay.)
Vaidaksh nodded quietly, then glanced behind him-but Siyanshi was nowhere to be seen. A frown crept onto his face as unease settled in. He took a few hurried steps forward, eyes scanning every corner, every shadow, desperately searching for her. Yet, no matter where he looked, Siyanshi remained out of sight, vanished into the crowd or the night itself.
Sarpanch: "Kya hua dactor Babu, kuch dundh rahe hai??"
(Doctor Saab, is something wrong? Are you looking for something?)
Vaidaksh: "Ji.. ji.. vo... Nahi kuch nahi"
(N-no, it's nothing.)
Sarpanch: "Aaiye"
(Please come.)
Vaidaksh nodded once more, casting a final glance in the opposite direction before turning away. With a heavy heart, he began walking alongside the sarpanch, his steps steady but weighed down by worry. Krithvik stayed close by, his concerned eyes never leaving Vaidaksh's tense figure.
They soon arrived at a small yet tidy guest house that the villagers had thoughtfully arranged to accommodate all the doctors. The simple house stood quietly under the dim glow of lanterns, offering a modest refuge amid the unfolding chaos.
Sarpanch: "Ye aap dono ke kamre hai Dactor Babu, maaf kijiye yaha zyada suvidha nahi hai toh hum itne ka hi bandobast kar paye"
(These are your rooms, Doctor Saab. Forgive us, we don't have too many facilities here, so this is all we could arrange.)
Krithvik: "Kya??? Iska matlab I have to share a room with bhai?? Damn, bhai, now everyone will start treating us like Ruvi and Aryu!"
(What? That means I have to share a room with bro?? Damn, bro, now everyone will start treating us like Ruvi and Aryu!)
Vaidaksh shot a sharp glare at Krithvik, who quickly shut his mouth in response. Grateful that the villagers hadn't caught on to his brother's nonsense, Vaidaksh silently breathed a sigh of relief, thankful to keep the situation under control.
Krithvik: "Apologies heheee"
The Sarpanch and the villagers exchanged puzzled glances, clearly unsure of what to make of the scene. Catching their confusion, Vaidaksh offered them a warm, reassuring smile, hoping to ease the tension and put them at ease.
Vaidaksh: "Ji kuch nahi, ye toh yunhi bakwas karta hai.... Hume koi problem nahi hai hum yaha reh lenge, dhanyawad"
(It's nothing - he just talks nonsense. We don't have any problem staying here. Thank you.)
Sarpanch: "Phir hum chalte hai aap araam kar lijiye, kuch samay me aapka khana bhejwa denge"
(Then we'll leave you to rest. We will send food for you shortly.)
Vaidaksh: "Jiii"
(Okay.)
After the villagers departed with the Sarpanch, Vaidaksh and Krithvik made their way into their room, while the other doctors had already settled in their respective rooms. Lost in his thoughts, Vaidaksh stood quietly, while Krithvik glanced around the room, making exaggerated faces to lighten the mood.
Krithvik: "Kaise kaise din aa gaye hai mere, shadi karne ki umar me bhai ke sath room share kar raha hu, Hayy Rabba, main ki bigaada ae tuhadda? Kyu ehho jehiyaan dinaan dikha rahe ho tusi menu... I mean, ehho jehi raat? Hehee"
(What days I'm seeing, man - at an age where I should be getting married, I'm sharing a room with my brother! Oh God, what have I done to deserve this? Why are you showing me these days - I mean, these nights? Haha.)
Krithvik scanned the room with a quick glance. It was a simple, decent space-modest yet full of the warm, rustic charm of the village. Earth-toned walls, a small wooden table in the corner, and a few clay lamps flickering softly gave it a cozy feel. He settled onto the charpoy, its thin mattress creaking slightly under his weight, and let out a small, amused smile. For a moment, he allowed himself a bit of playful drama, exaggerating his tiredness before quickly composing himself. Glancing around once more, his eyes met Vaidaksh's, and a sly smirk tugged at his lips - as if silently sharing a secret joke.
Krithvik: "Bhai yaha toh ye Charpoy hai aur kaha aapka king size bed, kaise manage karoge?? Aur is baar toh aapne aapki house bus ko bhi mana kar diya, Varna mera fayda hota"
(Bro, there's just this string cot here - what about your king-size bed? How will you manage? And this time you even refused your house bus - otherwise I could have benefitted from that!)
Krithvik kept blabbering on, but Vaidaksh wasn't listening to a single word. Frowning, Krithvik glanced over and saw Vaidaksh lost deep in his own thoughts, his eyes distant and unfocused. A mischievous smirk spread across Krithvik's face as he stepped closer and placed a firm hand on Vaidaksh's shoulder. But the moment Vaidaksh hissed sharply in response, Krithvik's smirk vanished instantly, replaced by a flicker of surprise.
Krithvik: "Bhai??? Kya hua??"
(Bro?? What happened?)
Vaidaksh: "Ahh, vo nothing just leave it."
Krithvik: "zarur vo table girne se hua hoga, come here let me"
(It must have happened from that table falling on you. Come here, let me look.)
Vaidaksh: "Krithu it's..."
Krithvik: "Just sit down, bhai, and take off your shirt."
Vaidaksh smiled softly, shaking his head as he settled onto the charpoy. Removing his shirt, he sat comfortably in just his vest. Krithvik returned moments later, carrying a first aid kit, and carefully began examining Vaidaksh's back with focused attention.
Krithvik: "Kya yaar bhai, pehle din hi laga liya, kitna red ho gaya hai"
(Bro, you already managed to get hurt on the first day, look how red it's gotten!)
Krithvik scolded Vaidaksh gently, like an elder brother chiding a younger sibling, as he carefully applied antiseptic cream to the scraped skin on Vaidaksh's back. But Vaidaksh's mind was elsewhere, his gaze distant and unfocused, lost deep in his own thoughts.
Finishing the application, Krithvik glanced up to find Vaidaksh still staring blankly ahead, clearly absent from the moment. A knowing smirk curved Krithvik's lips - he understood exactly what was weighing on his Brother's mind, even if Vaidaksh hadn't said a word.
Krithvik: "Areh Ramleela wali ladki tum"
(Hey, the girl from the Ramleela!)
Vaidaksh: "Kaha kahaa"
(What, where?)
Vaidaksh stood up to get clothes from his bag avoiding Krithvik. But Krithvik being Krithvik, came behind Vaidaksh and looked at him with teasing smirk.
Krithvik: "Matlab vahi ladki ka hi chakkar hai na"
(I mean, it's about that girl, right?)
Vaidaksh stood up to grab his clothes from the bag, carefully avoiding Krithvik's gaze. But true to form, Krithvik slipped up behind him, wearing a teasing smirk as he watched Vaidaksh with playful mischief in his eyes.
Krithvik: "bataiye na bhai vahi baat hai na tabhi itne khoye se ho na"
(Tell me, bro, it is about her, isn't it? That's why you're so lost?)
Vaidaksh: "Aisa kuch nahi hai chup kar tu"
(There's nothing like that - shut up.)
Krithvik: "Achcha toh unhe dekh ke aapki aakhon me aasu kyu the?? "
(Oh really? Then why did you have tears in your eyes when you saw her?)
Vaidaksh froze in place, his mind swirling with thoughts. He knew all too well that his eyes had grown moist the moment he looked at her, and now, once again, he found himself lost in the memory of those captivating blue eyes.
Vaidaksh: "There was something in my eyes."
Krithvik: "Something, or something something, bhai?"
Krithvik nudged Vaidaksh's shoulder with a sly smirk, clearly enjoying the moment. Vaidaksh shot him a sharp glare, but it didn't faze Krithvik in the slightest. Resigned, Vaidaksh turned away and headed to change his clothes.
Krithvik: "Lagta hai rab ji ne meri sun li, thank you rab ji, ab kal se hi pure gaav me Mission Bhabhi dundho start, woahhooooo"
(Looks like God heard me, thank you God! From tomorrow, I'm launching Mission Sister-in-law all over the village! Woahhhh!)
Krithvik leapt up in excitement, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. Without wasting a moment, he began eagerly outlining plans for the next day, his mind buzzing with ideas and strategies.
Siyanshi shook her head at Gauri and turned other side while Gauri was still lost in her imaginary fictional future. Siyanshi closed her eyes to sleep but she again saw those two beautiful black eyes. She immediately open led her eyes.
Gauri: "Siyanshiiii, uth pagal soyi kya hai"
(Siyanshi! Hey, wake up, you crazy girl, are you asleep or what?)
Siyanshi: "Kya hua, itna kyu chehek rahi hai??"
(What happened? Why are you chirping so loudly?)
Gauri: "Abhi abhi niche se maa baba ki baatein sun kar aayi hu, vo sehri babu jisne tujhe bachaya tha na, vahi hai Dactor sahab vo yaha do hafte rukne Wale hai, kitna mazaa aayega na"
(I just came from downstairs after hearing mom and dad talking. That city guy who saved you, he's the doctor who is going to stay here for two weeks. Isn't that amazing?)
Siyanshi: "Ohh, he's here for a medical camp isme tujhe mazaa kya aayega??"
(Ohh, he's here for a medical camp. What's so amazing about that?)
Gauri: "Achcha, itni der bas unko nihare ja rahi thi ki aakhon me aansu aa gaye aur keh rahi hai mazaa kya aayega??"
(Oh please! You were staring at him so much your eyes teared up, and now you're asking what's amazing?)
Siyanshi: "Nihar nahi rahi thi... Vo toh.. vo"
(I wasn't staring... it was just...)
Gauri: "haa haa rehne de, maine bhi dekha kitna mast hatte khatte navjawan hai vo, aur unke sath wale dactor Babu bhi, main toh kal hi jaungi milne"
(Yeah, yeah, leave it. I saw how handsome and fit he is, and that other doctor too - I'm going to meet them tomorrow for sure.)
Siyanshi: "Bewajah hi excited ho rahi hai, dikhne me hi ameer lag raha tha, na jaane kaisa hoga"
(You're getting excited for no reason. He looked rich too, who knows what kind of person he is.)
Gauri: "Haa jaise tu us bachche ko bachane ko bhagi thi na vo bhi usi liye aaye the, aur ab bhi shak kar rahi hai... Hatt tu main toh jaungi milne, kya pata yahi kahi meri kismat jud jaye"
(Yeah, like how you ran to save that child, he came for the same reason, and you're still doubting him? Get lost! I'm definitely going to meet him. Who knows, maybe my destiny is waiting there!)
Siyanshi shook her head gently at Gauri's dreaming and turned away, while Gauri remained lost in her own imaginary world. Closing her eyes to rest, Siyanshi was suddenly drawn back by the vivid image of those two beautiful black eyes. Startled, she snapped her eyes open, her heart pounding with an uneasy awareness.
Siyanshi's thoughts: Y"e kya hua abhi?? Pehle aansu aa gaye, aur ab aise vahi dikh Raha hai, kisi ajnabee ke liye aisi feelings, why??"
(What just happened to me? First tears came to my eyes, and now I keep seeing his face - feelings like this for a complete stranger? Why??)
Before long, she drifted off to sleep, her mind still swirling with thoughts.
On the other side, Vaidaksh had already drifted into a deep, much-needed sleep, exhausted from the day's events and nursing the sore patch on his back. But Krithvik, a true night owl, wasn't ready to call it a night. If he was awake, he'd make sure none of his cousins were getting any rest either.
With a quick glance to confirm that Vaidaksh was indeed fast asleep, Krithvik grinned mischievously. He pulled out his phone and opened their WhatsApp group-one he had proudly created himself, cheekily named "DNA me Drama hai." The familiar chat buzzed with unread messages, a perfect playground for his late-night antics.
Krithvik: "Koi jagaa hai?? Agar Nahi toh uth jao"
(Is anybody awake? If not, get up!)
Vansh: "Bhai aapko vaha jaake bhi chain nahi hai??"
(Bro, can't you stay calm even over there?)
Ruvyansh: "inka chain se lena dena hi nahi hai"
(Peace is something he can never understand.)
Aryash: "Bechare Vaidaksh bhai fas gaye inke sath"
(Poor Vaidaksh bhai is trapped with him.)
Krithvik: "Bakwas band karo Varna phone ghus ke marunga"
(Stop your nonsense or I'll shove the phone down your throat.)
Kiyaansh: "Kya bola??"
(What did you say??)
Krithvik: "Bhai aapko nahi bola sorry"
(Bro, not to you, sorry.)
Rudravika: "Bhai ye koi waqt hai panchayat lagane ka?? Hum toh sone hi ja rahe the"
(Bro, is this any time to hold a council meeting? I was just about to sleep!)
Viyana: "Lagta hai Kriti Aunty se maar khaye bhi reh nahi paa rahe"
(Looks like he can't survive without getting scolded by Kriti aunty.)
Viyakshi: "Aur nahi toh kya, jab tak chaar baatein sunenge nahi, soyenge nahi"
(Exactly, unless he hears a few scoldings, he won't be able to sleep.)
Aveer: "Akshi, tum kyu jagi ho tum vaha business meeting pe gayi ho na, so jao Varna thak jaogi na Inaayat"
(Akshi, why are you awake? You were at that business meeting, right? Go to sleep or you'll be tired, Inaayat.)
Vihaansh: "Main bhi hu is group me Aviii jiii"
(I'm also in this group, Aviii jiii.)
Aveer: "ha lekin main toh aapko ignore karta hu na anshu bhai"
(Yeah, but I usually ignore you, Anshu bhai.)
Vyanav: "Anshu bhai, meri itni beizzati hoti toh main toh abhi window se kood jaata"
(Anshu bhai, if I were humiliated like this, I'd have jumped out the window by now.)
Vaidik: "Toh main karta hu nalayak teri beizzati ja kood ja"
(Then let me humiliate you right now, worthless - go jump.)
Vyanav: "block kar dunga tujhe"
(I'll block you.)
Vrishank: "Areh yaar band karo na ye sab, mujhe Sona hai"
(Oh come on, guys, cut it out. I want to sleep!)
Vedarth: "Ji kumbhkaran ki sahi aulad, tu so le pehle"
(Truly the child of Kumbhkaran - you go to sleep first, buddy.)
Riyanaah: "Krithu bhai, aapne sabko kyu bulaya vo toh batao"
(Krithu bhai, why did you call everyone? At least tell us that!)
Krithvik: "Ek ye mera bachcha hi samajhdar hai, baaki pagal hai saree, sunna hi nahi hai kuch"
(See, this kid understands, the rest of you are insane. No one listens to a word.)
Riyanaah: "hehee main samajhdar hu"
(Hehe, I'm the smart one.)
Vihaansh: "Achcha chal bata kya baat hai"
(Okay, tell us what's going on.)
Kiyaansh: "Vahi kyu itni raat ko chehek raha hai??"
(Yeah, why are you chirping like this so late at night?)
Krithvik: "Vaidaksh bhai was looking at a girl today, and he even cried just from seeing her."
The moment Krithvik sent the message, everyone lying on their respective beds in their separate rooms froze, staring at their phones in stunned silence. For two long minutes, the group chat was dead-no replies, no reactions. Krithvik frowned in frustration, wondering why no one was responding.
Just as he was about to type another message, his phone suddenly rang, making him almost drop it in surprise. Heart pounding, he quickly regained his composure, disconnected the group call, and immediately switched his phone to silent.
Viyana: "Bhai yaar call uthao aur sab kuch batao"
(Bro, pick up the call and tell us everything!)
Viyakshi: "Aur ye mazaak hai toh bahaut pitoge sabse aap"
(And if this is a joke, you're going to get beaten up by everyone.)
Krithvik: "Chupppp, mazaak nahi hai... Call nahi utha sakta bhai baju me soye hai, uth gaye toh main kal bolne layak nahi bachunga"
(Shhh, it's no joke... I can't pick up the call, bhai is sleeping next to me, if he wakes up, I won't be alive to talk tomorrow.)
Vrishank: "aap aur Bhai ek hi room me, ummm hmmmm"
(You and bhai sharing a room, ummm hmmmm.)
Vedarth: "Hum toh bewajah hi shak kar rahe the Ruvi aur Aryu pe, asli story toh yaha hai"
(And here we were suspicious of Ruvi and Aryu for no reason - this is the real story.)
Ruvyansh: "Main toh pehle hi keh raha tha"
(I told you from the start.)
Riyanaah: "Konsi story bhai???"
(What story, bro??)
Vyanav: "ignore them Ms. Dhamaka, pagal hai ye log"
(Ignore them, Ms. Dhamaka, these guys are crazy.)
Riyanaah: "As you say Mr. Handsome"
Aveer: "Chup karo dono, road side lovers"
(Shut up, you two roadside lovers.)
Riyanaah: "Avii bhai mujhe gussa aa jayega"
(Avii bhai, I'm going to get angry.)
Aryash: "Areh yaar, Vaidaksh bhai pe focus karo na"
(Guys, please focus on Vaidaksh bhai!)
Rudravika: "Vahi toh, Krithu bhai, bataiye na kon hai ladki, kaisi dikhti hai, kya karti hai, bhaiya ne unhe kya bola??"
(Exactly, Krithu bhai, tell us - who's the girl? What does she look like? What did bhaiya say to her?)
Viyana: "Haa jaldi batao future bhabhi kaisi hai"
(Yeah, hurry up, what's our future sister-in-law like?)
Viyakshi: "Kya naam hai Bhabhi ka??"
(What's sister-in-law's name??)
Vihaansh: "Bhabhi bani nahi hai abhi"
(She's not your sister-in-law yet.)
Krithvik: "Is negative aadmi ko group se nikalo pehle"
(Kick this negative guy out of the group first.)
Kiyaansh: "Chal na nautanki aage bol"
(Come on, drama queen, keep talking.)
Krithvik: "When we came here today, there was a Ramleela going on. A child was about to get hurt, but bhai ran to save him, and at the same time, even bhabhi came forward to help. Bhai ended up saving them both, and he hurt his back a little."
Viyana: "Kya??? Bhai ko chot aayi hai"
(What??? Bhai got hurt?)
Viyakshi: "Kaise hai ab bhai, aur aap itna late bata rahe hai??"
(How is he now, and why are you telling us so late??)
Krithvik: "Bhai theek hai, aage suno tab Bhai and Bhabhi had an eye contact of few seconds and I noticed both had tears in their eyes without any reason.. socho kitni pyaari love story hogi na ye"
(Bhai is fine, listen to the rest - then bhai and sister-in-law had eye contact for a few seconds, and I noticed they both had tears in their eyes for no reason... just imagine what a beautiful love story this will be!)
Vrishank: "Krithu bhai ne notice Kiya means pakka jhooth hai"
(If Krithu bhai noticed it, then it's definitely a lie.)
Vedarth: "Kehte huye achcha nahi lag raha hai, par I'm with Vrishi"
(Doesn't feel right to say, but I agree with Vrishi.)
Viyana: "Wowww, such a devotional love story"
Viyakshi: "Kitne pyaare hai dono"
(They both sound so sweet!)
Krithvik quickly changed the group name to "Bhabhi Patao Abhiyaan," grinning mischievously. But just moments later, Aveer took over and switched it again to "Mrs. Vaidaksh Patao Abhiyaan," sparking a fresh round of laughter among the group.
Viyakshi: "Krithu bhai ne kya galat likha tha??"
(What did Krithu bhai write wrong, though?)
Aveer: "Akshuuu, vo hume bhabhi ki age nahi pata hai na isiliye, kya pata vo Bahaut choti huyi toh??"
(Akshuuu, we don't know her age yet - what if she turns out to be way too young?)
Vihaansh: 'Kuch confirm hai nahi, aur ye sab shuru"
(Nothing is confirmed yet, and you guys have already started.)
Krithvik noticed Vaidaksh was about to turn, so without a moment's hesitation, he quickly ducked under the duvet, trying to avoid any playful teasing or sharp looks.
Krithvik: "Baaki information kal deta hu, abhi planning karke mujhe batao subah kya karu inko milane ko"
(I'll give you the rest of the info tomorrow - but meanwhile, plan and tell me what I should do in the morning to get them to meet again.)
After that, Krithvik slipped his phone back aside and settled down to sleep, a wide grin still lighting up his face. Meanwhile, the group chat continued buzzing with messages, keeping the energy alive well into the night.
Viyana: "Planning toh hoti rahegi par main bata rahi hu pehle shadi ke kapde book kar leta hai, designer lehenga banne me time lagega"
(We'll keep planning, but I'm telling you - let's book the wedding outfits right now, designer lehengas take time to make!)
Aveer: "Iske baad meri shadi hogi main bata raha hu, main meri Inay... Wife ke liye aur wait nahi karunga"
(After this, it's my wedding next, I'm telling you - I won't wait any longer for my Inaayat... my wife-to-be.)
Viyakshi: "Pit jaoge tum ab Veer"
(You'll get beaten up for sure, Veer.)
Aveer: "Aapke haathon se kuch bhi"
(By your hands, anything)
Viyana: "Nahi next shadi main karungi, prannath aap kuch kehte kyu nahi sari zimmedari meri hai kya??"
(No, I'll be the next one to get married - Prannath, why don't you say anything, do I have to take all the responsibilities?)
Kiyaansh: "Good night sabko"
(Good night, everyone.)
Viyana: "Lagta hai sharma gaye, hehee"
(Looks like he got shy, hehe.)
Rudravika: "Hum bata rahe hai hum maar denge sabko, agla Vivaah humara hi hoga, vaise bhi Viyana aur Akshii aapke ghar me bhai ke baad bade toh ye hai na"
(I'm warning you all - I'll kill everyone, the next wedding is going to be mine! Besides, Viyana and Akshii, he's older in bhai's house after him, right?)
Vihaansh: "Aap kya kehna chah rahi hai Avika??"
(What are you trying to say, Avika?)
Rudravika's cheeks flushed as she smiled shyly.
Rudravika: "Hume nind aa rahi hai hum so rahe hai"
(I'm sleepy, I'm going to bed.)
Rudravika buried her face shyly into her duvet, cheeks flushed, while Vihaansh smiled softly as he glanced at his phone. Everyone else had drifted off to sleep-except for Viyana and Aveer. Quietly, Viyana sent a personal message to Aveer, breaking the stillness of the night.
Viyana: "Avii bhai, main na parso vapas aa jaungi phir na jaate hai designer ke pass abhi se planning karte hai"
(Avii bhai, I'll be back the day after tomorrow, then let's go to the designer's and start planning right away.)
Aveer: "Haa tu aur Akshu toh twins ho dono ko shadi sath me bhi toh kar sakte hai"
(Yeah, you and Akshu are twins anyway, you could even get married together.)
Viyana: "Haa na phir mujhe Akshu ke bina nahi rehna padega, wow bhai we are so great"
(Yeah, that way I won't have to live without Akshu. Wow, bro, we're so awesome!)
Aveer: "Main na papa ne naam se appointment le leta hu jaldi mil jayega, baaki sab toh pagal hai isiliye hum dono ko hi ab sari zimmedariyan uthani padegi"
(I'll take an appointment under Dad's name, we'll get one quickly. These people are crazy, so we'll have to take charge.)
Viyana: "Ji bhai Varna ye log hume kuwara maarenge"
(Exactly, or else these people will leave us single forever.)
Aveer: "Bilkul nahi, main toh shadi karke rahunga"
(No way - I'll definitely get married.)
Viyana: "Main bhi sasu maa ki bahu ban ke rahungi"
(And I'll definitely become a daughter-in-law of my mother-in-law!)
Aveer: "Done phir milte hai"
(Done, see you then.)
Viyana: "Done"
Even Viyana and Aveer had now fallen asleep.
The next morning, Vaidaksh woke up and went about his usual morning routine with practiced ease. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he finally took in the state of the room. Bags were scattered haphazardly across the floor, clothes draped carelessly on chairs and the bed-a chaotic mess that immediately set his nerves on edge.
Vaidaksh, obsessed with cleanliness and battling his OCD tendencies, couldn't ignore the disorder. With a deep breath, he began tidying up-folding clothes neatly, arranging the bags in a corner, and wiping down surfaces until the room felt orderly again. Only then did he feel ready to get dressed and prepare for the day ahead.
Just as he picked up his phone, Krithvik returned from the washroom, wiping his damp hair with a towel and whistling a carefree tune, completely unaware of Vaidaksh's silent critique of the mess he'd left behind.
Krithvik : "Gooodiieeee morning Bhaiiiii"
Krithvik didn't get any reply from Vaidaksh, so he glanced up to find Vaidaksh glaring directly at him, clearly unimpressed.
Krithvik: "Kya hua??"
(What happened??)
Vaidaksh: "Ye kya kiya hai tune?? Kya naam hai group ka, kya bakwas ki hai tune???"
(What have you done?? What is the name of this group, what nonsense have you written??)
Krithvik: "Bhai bakwas??? Main apne bhai ki setting Kara Raha hu isme bakwas kaha hai?? Dil Tod diya hai bhai Aaj aapne mera, sheehhhh"
(Bro, nonsense?? I'm trying to fix you up with someone, how is that nonsense?? You broke my heart today, bro, sheeeeshhhh.)
Krithvik dramatically wiped away his fake tears, then tossed the towel carelessly onto the charpoy before grabbing his shirt and slipping it on, trying to regain his usual composure.
Vaidaksh: "Dil ke sath ab haddiyan bhi tutengi teri, ruk tu Aaj nalayak"
(Along with your heart, I'll break your bones too today - just wait, you scoundrel!)
Vaidaksh had barely taken a single step when Krithvik bolted out of the room, giggling, his shirt still clutched in his hand. Vaidaksh shook his head in exasperation, but a soft smile tugged at his lips as he glanced at the group name on his phone, his thoughts drifting to Siyanshi's face.
In Singhania Law firm,
Vihaan and Vihaansh were deep in discussion about some cases in Vihaan's cabin.
Vihaan: "Okay, so the hearing for this case is next month. Until then, we need solid proof to put those culprits behind bars. This is our last chance, Anshu."
Vihaansh: "Don't worry, Papa, our team is on it. In fact, I personally visited the crime scene. I'm just waiting for some lab reports."
Vihaan: "Okay then, go for it."
Vihaansh: "Jii Papa"
(Yes, Papa.)
Vihaansh gathered his files and stood up to head out, but just as he was about to leave, Vihaan called out to stop him.
Vihaan: "Anshu, aaj Viku mujhse milne nahi aayi?? Kaha hai vo? Aayi hai na??"
(Anshu, didn't Viku come to see me today? Where is she? She came, right?)
Vihaansh: "Ji papa aayi hai, main dekhta hu"
(Yes, Papa, she came. I'll check.)
Vihaan: "Haa haa"
(Yeah, Yeah)
Vihaan playfully teased Vihaansh, making him smile shyly in response.
Vihaansh: "Papa yaarrr"
Vihaan let out a soft chuckle as Vihaansh turned and walked away, a slight smile still lingering on his father's face. Vihaansh headed straight to his cabin, with the files. Once inside, he placed them neatly on his desk, letting out a small sigh of relief. But as his eyes drifted toward the digital calendar placed beside his pen stand, he froze. The glowing red date displayed on the screen made his eyes widen in shock, a jolt of realization shooting through him.
Vihaansh: "Ohh damnn you idiot Vihaansh Singhania, itni important date bhool gaya Bewakoof"
(Oh damn, you idiot Vihaansh Singhania, you forgot such an important date - fool!)
Vihaansh snapped into action, immediately pulling open the bottom drawer of his desk. He quickly gathered a stash of dark chocolate bars, a neatly packed green tea bag, and a hot water bag, moving with practiced urgency. Without wasting a second, he plugged in the hot water bag to warm it up.
His mind was already racing as he grabbed his phone and dialed his PA's number, determination etched across his face. He knew exactly what day it was - and what preparations needed to be in place.
Vihaansh: "Hello, yes, please send a bouquet of fresh orchids to Rudravika Ma'am's cabin as soon as possible."
After disconnecting the call, Vihaansh paused for a moment, glancing at the small bottle of Rudravika's favorite menperfume he kept tucked away. With a faint, nervous smile, he sprayed it lightly on himself, hoping it might calm her mood.
He then carefully arranged everything on a tray - the dark chocolates stacked neatly, the steaming cup of freshly brewed green tea releasing a soothing aroma, and the hot water bag warmed to just the right temperature.
Balancing the tray steadily, he stepped out of his cabin and approached the door right next to his own. Taking a deep breath, he knocked gently on Rudravika's cabin door, preparing himself for whatever mood might be waiting on the other side.
Rudravika: "Come in"
Rudravika's pale, fragile voice drifted through the door, making Vihaansh's heart sink instantly. Without wasting another second, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. There she was, slumped over her desk, her head resting heavily on folded arms, her entire posture radiating exhaustion and pain. Vihaansh's chest tightened at the sight.
Moving quickly, he first turned to the couch in the corner of the room, adjusting it into a small bed, the sofa cum bed, unfolding it carefully to make a comfortable resting spot. Then he approached Rudravika, placing a gentle, reassuring hand on her shoulders.
Vihaansh: "Betuuu"
Rudravika slowly lifted her head, revealing a face that was usually so vibrant and full of life but now looked pale and drawn, exhaustion etched into every feature. Her eyes, heavy with fatigue, met Vihaansh's gentle gaze.
Without a word, she pouted softly and leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his waist in a silent plea for comfort. Vihaansh's heart ached at the sight, and he immediately embraced her, pulling her closer. His hand moved tenderly through her hair, caressing her head in slow, soothing strokes, offering a quiet reassurance that he was there, no matter what.
Rudravika: "Anshh, aap aa gaye"
(Anshh, you're here.)
Vihaansh: "Haan ji betu, main aa gaya aur ab tum tension mat lo okay?"
(Yes, betu, I'm here - and now you don't have to worry, okay?)
Rudravika: "Hum aapka hi intezar kar rahe hai the kabse"
(I've been waiting for you for so long.)
Vihaansh: "I know avika I know, sorry betu thoda late ho gaya, achcha chalo aao mere sath"
(I know, Avika, I know. Sorry, betu, I got a little late. Okay, come on, come with me.)
Rudravika tilted her face upward, resting her head against Vihaansh's stomach, her eyes wide and shimmering with a pleading, puppy-like innocence. It was a look so heartbreakingly sweet that Vihaansh felt his heart practically melt on the spot.
Unable to resist, he brushed a few stray strands of hair away from her face, his fingertips gentle and careful. Then he lowered his hands to cup her cheeks, his thumbs softly tracing her skin before giving them a gentle, reassuring squeeze.
Vihaansh: "Aao ab, chalo"
(Come now, let's go.)
Vihaansh carefully helped Rudravika to her feet, steadying her with a supportive arm. Moving gently, he guided her over to the couch he had just set up. Helping her settle into a half-reclining position, he adjusted the cushions behind her back for maximum comfort.
Then, with a calm focus, he handed her the warm hot water bag. Rudravika accepted it gratefully, placing it against her lower stomach, letting the soothing heat seep into her cramped muscles.
Vihaansh sat down beside her, his presence steady and reassuring, and offered her a steaming cup of herbal green tea, specially prepared to ease her discomfort. Rudravika took it with a faint, appreciative smile, their eyes meeting in a silent moment of understanding and care.
Rudravika: "Aap humesha kaise yaad rakh lete hai humari periods ki dates??"
(How do you always remember my period dates?)
Vihaansh: "Bas rakh leta hu"
(I just do.)
Rudravika gave a small, grateful smile, the faintest hint of comfort flickering in her eyes. Vihaansh couldn't help but admire her quiet strength. Deep down, he already knew what was coming next-the inevitable complaints about her cramps and discomfort. But he was ready. With gentle patience, he braced himself to listen attentively to every word, every sigh, determined to be her steadfast support through it all.
Rudravika: "Ye cramps bhi kitne bure hai hume kitna dard hota hai, agar ye cramps koi insaan hote na toh hum inpe case kar karte domestic violence ka, phir saza bhi hum hi sunate aur hum inhe khoob marte the... Nahi par hume toh periods me bas aapse princess treatment chahiye.... Tohhhh...."
(These cramps are so terrible, it hurts so much. If these cramps were a person, I would file a domestic violence case on them, then I'd deliver their sentence myself and beat them up good. But no - during my periods, I only want princess treatment from you... so...)
Rudravika's mind drifted in a haze of thoughts, torn between what she should do. Her fingers absently reached his hands for the dark chocolates Vihaansh offered, her lips parting slightly as she let the bittersweet pieces melt slowly on her tongue.
Vihaansh watched her quietly, his eyes soft with care, waiting patiently as she lost herself in her swirling thoughts. The simple act of feeding her the chocolates seemed to offer a small comfort, grounding her amid the storm of indecision inside her mind.
Rudravika: "Toh haaa hum na cramps ko aap se maar khilwate, aapke biceps is maamle me khoob kaam aayenge, aap marenge na cramps ko??"
(So yes, I'd have you beat up those cramps, your biceps would be perfect for that, you'll beat them up, right?)
Vihaansh: "Bilkul marunga, aise kaise meri Avika ko pareshan karega"
(Of course I'll beat them up - how dare they trouble my Avika?)
Rudravika: "Vahi toh, ek toh hum kuch kehte nahi hai toh muh utha ke har mahine chale aate hai.... Ab toh hum case karenge hi.... Humari masoomiyat ka galat fayda nahi uthne denge hum"
(Exactly! And since I never say anything, they come shamelessly every month... now I will definitely file a case. I won't let them take advantage of my innocence.)
Vihaansh: "That's like my betu, bilkul theek keh rahi ho tum"
(That's my betu, you're absolutely right.)
Rudravika: "Hai na, hume pata tha aap humari taraf se hi bolenge, isiliye hum apna case aapko hi denge, aap ladenge na??"
(Right? I knew you'd always take my side, that's why I'm giving you my case - you'll fight it for me, won't you?)
Vihaansh: "Jo meri Avika bolegi vo hoga, but ha tum Aaj bhi office aayi ye theek nahi kiya tumne"
(Whatever my Avika says, that will happen. But still, you shouldn't have come to the office today.)
Rudravika: "Ansh kal case ki hearing hai na toh documenta ready karne the isiliye hum aa gaye"
(Ansh, the hearing is tomorrow - I had to get the documents ready, that's why I came.)
Vihaansh: "Vo sab main kar lunga, par abhi tum thoda araam karogi aur phir main tumhe ghar chodunga"
(I'll handle all of that, but right now you're going to rest, and then I'll take you home.)
Rudravika: "Par Ansh, hum ..."
(But Ansh, I...)
Vihaansh: "Tumne meri baat nahi mani toh main anshan pe baith jaunga Betuu"
(If you don't listen to me, I'll go on a strike, Betu.)
Rudravika giggled softly, her words tumbling out in a cheerful, unfiltered stream. She was so caught up in her blabbering that she didn't even notice when Vihaansh's hands began gently massaging her legs, easing away the tension and pain with tender care.
Suddenly, a soft knock at the door broke their bubble. Vihaansh paused and rose to answer it. Opening the door, he found his assistant standing there with a delicate bouquet of orchids in hand. With a grateful smile, Vihaansh accepted the flowers and returned to the room. Stepping inside, he presented the bouquet to Rudravika, who looked up, surprised and touched by the thoughtful gesture. Her smile deepened as she inhaled the sweet fragrance, the simple act brightening her spirits.
Rudravika: "Ahhh humare pasandida orchids, Ansh aap kitne achche hai, hum toh ro denge abhi"
(Ahhh, my favorite orchids - Ansh, you're so sweet, I'll start crying now.)
Vihaansh: "Ji nahi aap royengi nahi, aap abhi Ghar chal ke araam karengi, chaliye"
(No, you're not going to cry. You'll come home with me now and get some rest. Let's go.)
Rudravika: "Par kaam ba..."
(But the work...)
Vihaansh: "I said I'll handle it, Avika. Just relax and let me drop you home. Come on."
Rudravika smiled softly and extended her hand toward Vihaansh. He took it gently, his fingers curling around hers with tender care as he helped her to her feet. With a protective gesture, he lifted her bag and rested a reassuring hand on her shoulder, ready to walk beside her. But just as he began to move, Rudravika's soft voice stopped him. She looked up, eyes steady, and quietly called out, making him pause in his tracks.
Rudravika: "Ansh, aapne humare pasand ki perfume lagayi hai na??"
(Ansh, did you put on the perfume I like?)
Vihaansh smiled shyly, a gentle flush coloring his cheeks as he nodded. Carefully, he applied Rudravika's favorite perfume, knowing how much she loved its subtle, comforting scent.
Rudravika's grin widened, her eyes sparkling with affection. Playfully, Vihaansh poked the dimples that appeared on her cheeks, making her giggle softly.
Hand in hand, their laughter mingling in the air, they headed back home together, a perfect moment of simple happiness shared between them.
