"6. Whispers and Warmth"

After their lunch, Rudravika and Vihaansh headed to the mall, just as he had promised. Rudravika was gleaming with excitement as she browsed through nail paints, skincare items, and a few other essentials while Vihaansh patiently followed, occasionally giving his opinions and smiling at her childlike enthusiasm.

Once done with shopping, Vihaansh drove straight to her home. The car smoothly came to a halt inside the gates of Rudravika’s house. Vihaansh quickly stepped out, walked over to the passenger side, and opened the door for her like a true gentleman. Rudravika smiled at the gesture and stepped out.

Vihaansh: "Betu ab tum na jaake zara so jaana, uchal kood me dimaag mat lagana"
(Betu, now go and get some sleep. Don’t waste your brain on jumping around.)

Rudravika: "Haa vaise bhi case me humara saara dimaag lag gaya'
(Yeah, anyway, the entire case already drained our brains.)

Both chuckled at her joke, sharing a light moment that felt warm and familiar. Vihaansh affectionately patted her head, and Rudravika smiled, waving at him before turning to head inside. She glanced back once with a soft smile and then closed the door behind her.

But the moment the door shut, the smile on Vihaansh's face vanished. His jaw clenched, and his eyes darkened with fury. His entire posture shifted, from gentle and calm to stiff and sharp. Without wasting a second, he pulled out his phone from his pocket, his fingers moving quickly. He dialled a number with determination, his eyes glaring straight ahead.

The phone rang once... twice... and then connected.

Vihaansh: "Is he over there??"

Vihaansh’s jaw clenched tightly as he received the confirmation over the call. Without wasting a second, he hung up and slid into the driver’s seat, the tension in his body evident in the way he gripped the steering wheel. The ignition roared to life, and he slammed his foot on the accelerator, sending the car hurtling forward with a screech of tires.

His knuckles turned white as his grip tightened with every pulse of fury rising inside him. His face was blank, but his eyes, burning with silent rage, were enough to unsettle even the boldest of men. As he shifted gears, the sharp click of the gear stick echoed like a war drum. With a fierce jerk, he took a hard right turn, his body leaning sharply with the motion, veins bulging across his forearms and neck, reflecting the storm building inside him.

The path ahead led away from the city's lights, deeper into an area surrounded by dense trees and thick silence. A forest-line enveloped the road as he drove down the dimly lit route. Finally, he reached a secluded compound, guarded and isolated. A house-like structure stood quietly at the center, masked by trees and darkness.

The guards standing by the gate straightened immediately upon seeing the car. Their postures turned rigid, and they saluted him with the kind of fear and respect only someone like Vihaansh could command. He didn’t acknowledge them. Without slowing down his pace, he stepped out, his expression unreadable, his eyes fixated on only one thing, justice, or rather, retribution.

His shoes thudded against the ground with authority as he marched into the building. Inside, it was cold and minimalistic, the kind of place where silence screamed louder than any noise. He descended the iron stairs leading to the underground section, the dull clangs echoing in the narrow corridor.

There, at the far end of the dim corridor, was a room illuminated only by a flickering lamp swinging slightly from the ceiling. A single chair sat in the middle, occupied. The man tied to it was slumped forward, bruised and breathing heavily, his face already swollen with fear and past consequences. Vihaansh’s presence made the man jolt slightly, as if even the idea of what was about to happen unsettled him more than the actual pain.

Vihaansh’s sleeves were already rolled up, his white shirt clinging to his body with the tension that screamed violence. Without uttering a word, he unstrapped his silver watch and gently placed it on a nearby shelf, methodical in the way only a man who’s done this before can be.

(Author: Ha ha Vihaansh bahaut hot hai yahi na)

And then, without a warning, his fist collided with the man's jaw.

The chair shook.

Another punch, this time to the ribs.

The air thickened.

The man coughed, wheezed, tried to speak, but Vihaansh wasn’t done. He gripped the man’s collar, pulled him up and glared into his half-conscious eyes, his own breathing heavy, rage lacing every word. But before he could punch more, two men appeared and grabbed him, one seized his hands tightly while the other held him firmly around the waist.

Vihaansh: "Leave me Kiwi, iski himmat kaise huyi Avika pe hath uthane"
(Leave me, Kiwi. How dare he raise his hand on Avika?)

Kiyaansh: "Just wait, Anshu. We need some information from him first."

Vihaansh: "I don’t need any information! I’m not letting him go today! Ruhaansh, let go of my hand!"

Ruhaansh: "Anshu bhai, please wait!"

Vihaansh struggled to break free from the grip of Kiyaansh and Ruhaansh, but both held onto him tightly, refusing to let go.

"Stop it Vihaansh"

Vihaansh froze the moment he heard the voice and closed his eyes, a wave of realization washing over him. Kiyaansh and Ruhaansh also released their grip, and the three of them slowly turned around, only to see Rudraksh standing there, his presence commanding and silent.

Vihaansh: "Rudra Uncle, main isko nahi chodunga isne mere samne Meri Avika ke hath uthane ki himmat ki hai"
(Rudra Uncle, I won’t spare him! He dared to raise his hand on my Avika, right in front of me!)

Rudraksh: "I said stop it, Vihaansh"

Vihaansh shut his eyes tightly, trying to rein in his anger. Rudraksh stepped forward calmly and placed a firm, reassuring hand on his shoulder.

Rudraksh: "Hath pe bruises dekh ke agar Viku sawal karegi toh kya jawab doge??"
(If Viku sees bruises on your hands and starts asking questions, what will you say?)

Ruhaansh: "Isiliye seedha gun se uda dete hai"
(That’s why we should’ve just shot him on the spot.)

Ruhaansh swiftly pulled out his gun and aimed it at the reporter, his eyes burning with fury. But before he could act, Kiyaansh quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him just in time.

Kiyaansh: "Not now Ruhaansh"

Ruhaansh turned to Kiyaansh with a playful wink, causing Kiyaansh to roll his eyes and reluctantly release his grip. Without missing a beat, Ruhaansh pressed the gun against the reporter’s head. Meanwhile, Vihaansh leaned in closer to the reporter, his expression deadly serious.

Vihaansh: "Tu koi reporter nahi hai main jaanta hu, tujhe us Thakur ne bheja tha, mere bare me jo bola theek tha par Avika pe hath nahi uthana chahiye tha"
(You’re no reporter, I know that. Thakur sent you, right? Whatever you said about me was fine, but you should never have laid a hand on Avika!)

Saying this, Vihaansh landed a hard punch on the reporter’s face, drawing blood instantly, but his rage didn’t let him stop there. Blow after blow followed until Kiyaansh stepped in, grabbed the reporter by the collar, and delivered a sharp slap across his face, his expression burning with fury.

Kiyaansh: "Usko pata tha vo case haar jayega, phir bhi usne aisa kyu karwaya tujhse bol??"
(He knew he would lose the case, even then, why did he make you do this? Speak!)

The reporter remained silent, refusing to answer, so Ruhaansh pressed the gun firmly against his throat, intensifying the threat.

Ruhaansh: "Seedhe seedhe jawab dede Varna zinda nahi bachega"
(Answer straight, or you won’t leave here alive.)

The reporter stubbornly turned his head away, firmly refusing to share any information. Rudraksh’s anger flared higher with every passing second. Without hesitation, he snatched the gun from Ruhaansh’s hand, aimed carefully, and fired a shot into the reporter’s leg. The sharp crack echoed through the room as the reporter cried out in pain.

Ruhaansh: "Papa, mujhe toh mana karte ho aap"
(And Papa, you always stop me from doing this!)

Rudraksh: "That’s because you don’t need to take the law into your hands when I’m around."

Kiyaansh: "Chote papa, yaar mujhe toh karne dete ye"
(Chhote Papa, at least let me do it, please!)

Rudraksh: "Shut up, piddu"

Ruhaansh chuckled at the mention of Kiyaansh’s name, prompting Kiyaansh to shoot him a fierce glare. Vihaansh rolled his eyes at their familiar antics, then turned his attention back to the reporter, gripping his jaw firmly to keep him in place.

Vihaansh: "Bol kyu pade ho tum log Avika ke piche, vo bhi ek hafte se??"
(Why have you all been after Avika for the past one week, huh?)

Ruhaansh yanked the reporter’s hair roughly, while Kiyaansh pressed harder on his thighs, the very spot where Rudraksh had shot him, causing the reporter to wince in pain.

Ruhaansh: "Bol Varna jaan se jayega Aaj"
(Speak, or today will be your last!)

Reporter: "Vo..vo thakur sahab apna business Malhotra's se merge karke legal karna chahte the isiliye unhone apni beti ki shadi Malhotra sahab ke bete se karani chahi par jab inhone mana kiya toh vo log inki beti ke piche pad gaye aur use utha uski shadi apne bete se karate zabardasti"
(Th-Thakur sir wanted to merge his business with the Malhotras and make it legal. So he wanted his daughter to marry Mr. Malhotra’s son. But when they refused, he and his men started chasing their daughter and planned to abduct and forcefully marry her off to his son!)

That was the last straw for Vihaansh. He immediately delivered a powerful kick to the reporter’s chest, sending him sprawling backward. Without hesitation, Ruhaansh, Kiyaansh, and Vihaansh all joined in, raining down relentless kicks on him.

Kiyaansh: "Humari Viku pe buri nazar dalega"
(You dared to cast your filthy eyes on our Viku??)

Ruhaansh: "Mere hote huye meri behen ke bare me aisa socha bhi kaise"
(And how did you even think of touching my sister while I’m still alive?)

Vihaansh remained silent, completely focused on kicking the man without uttering a word.

Rudraksh: "Stoooooppp"

Rudraksh’s sharp shout cut through the chaos, and the three men immediately ceased their assault, stepping back. Rudraksh then dropped to his knees, fixing the person with a deadly glare that sent a clear warning.

Rudraksh: "Is baare zinda chod rahe hai tujhe, jaake bata Dene apne malik ke bete ko ki uska baap toh jail me rahega hi par uski bhi zindagi ka kuch khaas bharosa hai nahi"
(We’re sparing your life only so you can go tell your boss’s son that while his father will rot in jail, even his life isn’t exactly safe anymore.)

The reporter was visibly terrified as Rudraksh stood up with a smirk. He then turned to face Vihaansh, Ruhaansh, and Kiyaansh, his expression calm but commanding.

Rudraksh: "Chutku Betu, piddu..."

Kiyaansh: "I am not piddu chote papa, and don't worry ghar pe kisi ko kuch pata nahi chalega, news me jo dikha vo papa ne sambhal liya"
(I’m not Piddu, Chhote Papa. And don’t worry, no one at home will find out anything. Dad handled what showed up in the news.)

Ruhaansh: "Mumma ko bhi kuch pata nahi chalega papa, ha par aapne agar mujhe phir se chutku bola toh.."
(Mumma won’t find out either, Papa. But if you call me Chutku again...)

Rudraksh: "Chup kar maa ka ladka"
(Oh, shut up, you mamma’s boy.)

Ruhaansh and Kiyaansh giggled quietly, while Rudraksh approached Vihaansh and gave his shoulders a firm, reassuring squeeze.

Rudraksh: "Relax. Viku is safe, and you guys aren’t doing anything wrong."

Vihaansh: "And nothing will ever happen to her as long as I’m with her."

Vihaansh cast one final glance at the terrified reporter before turning and walking away. Rudraksh watched him go, his eyes filled with pride.

Kiyaansh: "Ye ladka bhi na, pata nahi ab kya karega"
(This guy, I swear, who knows what he’ll do next?)

Well aware of Vihaansh’s habits, Kiyaansh quickly ran after him. Meanwhile, Ruhaansh smiled at Rudraksh and took his place beside him.

Ruhaansh: "Anshu bhai bilkul sahi hai Viku ke liye papa"
(Anshu bhai is perfect for Viku, Papa.)

Rudraksh: "Jaanta hu, it's just that kahi humara past uski life me problems create na kare"
(I know... it’s just that... I hope our past doesn’t create problems in his life.)

Ruhaansh: "Aaj Tak aapne humpe koi aanch nahi aane di hai papa, aur ab toh aap Mafia chod bhi chuke, it's been decades papa kuch nahi hoga, and baaki hum sab hai na sambhal lenge... And Vaise bhi Vihaan uncle konse seedhe hai, Anshu bhai ne unhi se toh seekha hai sab"
(Till now, you’ve never let any harm come to us, Papa. And now that you’ve even left the mafia world, it’s been decades! Nothing’s going to happen. And even if something does, we’re all here to handle it. And besides, Vihaan uncle wasn’t exactly a saint either, Anshu bhai learned everything from him, remember?)

Rudraksh: "Not just Vihaan, this entire Singhania family, sab ke sab ek se badh kar ek hai"
(Not just Vihaan, this entire Singhania family, each one of them is something else.)

Both father and son chuckled softly, sharing a quiet moment of amusement.

Ruhaansh: "And Vaise bhi knows thoda bahaut toh hota hi hai ab is business world me koi seedha toh hai nahi, thodi dark side sabki rehti hai papa, Viyansh uncle ki bhi hai aapne hi kaha tha so just chill"
(And anyway, Papa, in today’s business world, no one’s completely clean. Everyone has a dark side. Even Viyaansh uncle, you said it yourself. So just chill.)

Rudraksh: "Achcha beta chill, aap karenge mujhe chill"
(Oh wow... now you’re telling me to chill?)

Ruhaansh: "mazaak papa mazak"
(I was joking, Papa! Just kidding!)

Rudraksh raised his eyebrows in surprise as Ruhaansh playfully tugged at his cheeks before dashing away, leaving Rudraksh standing there, stunned.

In the village,
Night had fully settled over the village, and the air was cool and crisp. After a satisfying dinner, Krithvik and the other doctors had gathered outside the guest house, creating a warm circle around a crackling bonfire. Charpoys were arranged haphazardly around the fire, their woven threads stretched taut and inviting. A Bluetooth speaker played soft, upbeat tunes, blending perfectly with the gentle laughter and light chatter of the group, creating a cozy, familial atmosphere under the starlit sky.

Vaidaksh, however, felt the pull of solitude. Excusing himself quietly, he drifted away from the lively gathering, heading toward a nearby tree that stood sentinel over an open patch of earth. The moon hung low and luminous in the dark sky, casting silver shadows on the ground. The quiet space beneath the tree felt like a sanctuary, a place where he could untangle the knots in his mind.

He settled down on the soft grass, his thoughts swirling in a restless storm. So much had been weighing on him lately, emotions unspoken, decisions that needed clarity, and a yearning for guidance. Reaching into his pocket, Vaidaksh pulled out his phone. With a deep breath, he dialed the one person who guided him the most, his father. To his relief, the call connected swiftly, the line ringing only twice before his father’s steady voice came through.

Viyansh: "Hello little Jaan"

Vaidaksh smiled warmly at his father, a spark of affection shining in his eyes.

Vaidaksh: "Hello papa, kaise hai aap??"
(Hello, Dad. How are you?)

Viyansh: "All good over here, but mere bete ke dil me koi baat zarur hai aaj"
(All good over here, but there’s definitely something on my son’s mind today.)

Vaidaksh: "Aapko humesha kaise pata chal jaata hai"
(How do you always know?)

Viyansh: "Vaise toh Teri awaaz se pata chal gaya but aaj little jaan bolne pe chidha bhi nahi toh isiliye"
(I could already tell from your voice, but today you didn’t even snap at me for calling you “little jaan,” so that gave it away.)

Vaidaksh smiled softly and tilted his head back, gazing up at the sky lost in thought.

Vaidaksh: "I'm confused papa, kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai pata nahi kya ho raha hai mere sath"
(I'm confused, Dad. I don't understand what’s happening to me. I don’t know what’s going on.)

Viyansh: "is everything okay?? Vaha kuch problem huyi hai?? Main aau kya??"
(Is everything okay? Did something happen over there? Should I come?)

Vaidaksh: "Nahi papa yaha toh sab theek hai problem toh mere dil me hai"
(No, everything’s fine here. The problem is in my heart.)

Viyansh: "Go on, I’m listening."

Vaidaksh: "Achanak se dil ki dhadkane badh jati hai, achanak hi aakhon se aasu aa jate hai, khud hi sukoon mehsus hone lagta hai, khud hi andar hi andar khush ho jaata hu, khud hi udaas ho jaata hai... Jab se aaya hu yehi ho raha hai"
(Suddenly, my heartbeat speeds up. Out of nowhere, tears fall from my eyes. I feel a strange peace, sometimes joy, sometimes sadness… This has been happening since I arrived here.)

Viyansh: "Kya naam hai?"
(What's her name?)

Vaidaksh: "Vahi toh papa is bimari ka naam mujhe bhi nahi pata hai"
(That’s the thing, Dad, I don’t even know the name of this “disease.”)

Viyansh chuckled warmly at his son’s innocence and shook his head with a fond smile.

Viyansh: "Ladki ka naam puch raha hai, jiske aate hi tera dil bekabu ho jata hai"
(I meant the girl’s name, the one who makes your heart go out of control.)

Vaidaksh: "Papaaaa"
(Dad!)

Vaidaksh’s eyes widened in shock, his breath catching at the unexpected revelation.

Viyansh: "I have been through this phase, ab bata kya naam hai??"
(I’ve been through this phase. Now tell me, what’s her name?)

Vaidaksh: "Umm vo Siyanshi.. unhe pehli baar dekhte pata nahi meri aakhon se aasu girne lage, jab bhi aas pass hoti hai dil zor se dhadkta hai par unke ek sparsh se khud shant ho jaata hai.. aap jante hai itni sari surgeries kar chuka hu kabhi darr nahi laga but Aaj unhe injection Dena tha toh mere hath kaapne lage papa, maine Krithu ko bola phir injection Dene... Chot unhe aayi thi par Aisa mehsus hua jaise dard mujhe ho raha hai... Par aisa kyu ho raha hai papa main toh bas unse abhi Mila hu main toh janta bhi nhi hu.. phir bhi Aisa kyu papa?? Being a cardiologist mujhe apne hi Dil ka ECG graph samajhne me issue hone laga hai lagta hai, kahi main apni sudh budh toh nahi kho baitha.. papa main pagal ho jaunga itne sare ehsaas ho rahe hai ajeeb bhi lag raha hai achcha bhi .. na jaane ye ho kya raha hai"
(Umm… it’s Siyanshi. The first time I saw her, tears welled up in my eyes. Whenever she’s around, my heart races, but just one touch from her calms everything down. You know, I’ve performed so many surgeries and never felt afraid, but today, when I had to give her an injection, my hands started trembling. I had to ask Krithu to do it instead. She got hurt, but I felt like I was in pain. But why is this happening, Dad? I’ve just met her, I don’t even know her! Yet why do I feel this way? As a cardiologist, I think I’m having trouble reading my own ECG graph. Am I losing my senses? I’m going crazy with all these emotions. It feels strange and beautiful at the same time... I don’t know what’s going on.)

Viyansh chuckled warmly at his son’s antics, causing Vaidaksh to pout playfully upon hearing his father’s laughter.

Vaidaksh: "Papa has rahe hai aap mujhpe"
(Are you laughing at me, Dad?)

Viyansh: "Firstly my little Jaan, ye jo meri Jaan jaisa pout banaya hoga aapne use kum kijiye varna Dr. Singhania ka aura gir jayega"
(Firstly, my little Jaan, drop that pouty face you’re probably making, or Dr. Singhania’s cool image will take a hit.)

Vaidaksh pressed his lips together,as he was genuinely pouting just as his father had teased.

Viyansh: "Now calm down. Take deep breaths and let it be."

Vaidaksh took a deep breath, slowly exhaling as he tried to calm himself down.

Viyansh: "Umm pata hai jab maine Biwi ki photo pehli baar dekhi thi na mujhe toh tab hi mere dil me kuch feel hua tha but as she says I'm an idiot main samajh nahi paaya.. par phir vo meri zindagi me aa gayi and you know na meri Jaan se pyaar naa karna"
(You know, when I first saw your mom’s photo, I felt something in my heart too, but she says I was an idiot and didn’t realize it then. Eventually, she came into my life. And you know, my Jaan is someone you just can’t help falling for.)

Viyansh, Vaidaksh: "Mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai"
(Not just difficult, impossible.)

Both father and son chuckled together, sharing a warm, lighthearted moment.

Viyansh: "Exactly but it's not like we fell in love achanak se, humne pehle ek dusre ko jaana aur phir jo hum hai hume usse pyaar hua hai, we didn't pretend to be perfect... You know I like to keep things organized and meri Jaan aur aapki mumma clumsiness ki brand ambassador hai still I fell in love with her clumsiness. Bahaut kum log hote hai beta jinhe apni keemti cheezon ki sahi value us cheez ke pass hone pe hi pata chal jaati hai... Samajh raha hai na kya keh raha hu"
(Exactly. But it's not like we fell in love instantly. We got to know each other first, and then we fell in love with who we truly were. We didn’t pretend to be perfect. I like keeping things neat, and your mom, your Jaan, is the brand ambassador of clumsiness. Still, I fell in love with her clumsiness. Very few people realize the true value of something precious while they still have it... You get what I’m saying, right?)

Vaidaksh: "Hmm... I’m trying to connect the dots, but there’s a lot of clutter in my head right now."

Viyansh: "Don't worry I'm sure jaldi hi sab clear ho jayega, aur shayad Jaan ki wish bhi puri ho jaye... But yeah don't force yourself for anything okay?? Just be calm and go with the flow understood??"
(Don’t worry. I’m sure everything will become clear soon. And maybe your Jaan’s wish will come true too. But yeah, don’t force anything, okay? Just stay calm and go with the flow. Understood?)

Vaidaksh: "Aye aye captain"

Viyansh chuckled softly, amused by the contrast. When it came to others, Vaidaksh was always the responsible one, the steady pillar for his siblings. But with him, Vaidaksh transformed into just his little jaan, his precious child, treated with the same gentle care and indulgence their mother reserved only for him. The thought made Viyansh smile warmly, appreciating the unique bond they shared.

Viyansh: "Vaise kya naam bataya??"
(So, what did you say her name was again?)

Vaidaksh: "Siyanshi. Siyanshi Dixit."

Viyansh: "Pyaara naam hai"
(That’s a lovely name.)

Vaidaksh: "vo bhi pyaari si hai papa, choti si.. pata hai vo bhi mumma jaisi clumsy hai aaj hath kaat liya tha sabzi kaatne me batao aisi bhi kya laparwahi karna... Jis din main aaya yaha us din main beech me nahi aata toh chot laga leti khudko dusre ko bachane ke chakkar me... Uper se injection se darti hai bilkul bachche jaise .... Abhi shaam chai nashta lekar aayi thi toh Krithu se takra ke girne wali thi.. aur ye pagal unhe tease karne baith gaya... Iski toh achche se class lunga main aise kaise unhe tang karta rehta hai"
(She’s lovely too, Dad. Petite... You know, she’s clumsy just like Mom. She cut her hand while chopping vegetables today, can you believe that kind of carelessness? The day I arrived here, she almost got hurt trying to protect someone else. She’s scared of injections too, just like a kid... And earlier this evening, she almost tripped while bringing snacks, bumped into Krithu. And that idiot started teasing her. I’ll give him a piece of my mind, how dare he keep bothering her like that?)

Vaidaksh kept talking about Siyanshi with a bright smile, while Viyansh listened quietly, smiling to himself at how his son was finally getting the happiness he had longed for.

Vaidaksh: "Kya hua papa chup kyu ho gaye??"
(What happened, Dad? Why did you go quiet?)

Viyansh: "I think you’ve cleared up the mess in your head, Dakshu."

Vaidaksh: "kaise papa??"
(How do you figure?)

Viyansh: "You know, I was the happiest man when I realized that your mom trusted me enough to let her inner child out in front of me. I was, and still am, a grumpy, arrogant man but unke aage ek nahi chalti meri aur isi me mujhe khushi milti hai, samajh raha hai na??
(You know, I was the happiest man when I realized that your mom trusted me enough to let her inner child out in front of me. I was, and still am, a grumpy, arrogant man. But with her, none of that works for me. And that’s what makes me happy. Do you understand?)

Vaidaksh: "Ji papa"
(Yes, Dad.)

Viyansh: "Jo bhi ho beta always remember izzat, barabari, bharosa, imandari aur pyaar... Ek ladki ko isse zyada aur kuch nahi chahiye hota hai.. and pyaar last me because agar baaki ki cheezein nahi hai toh pyaar hone ka kya matlab hai beta "
(Whatever happens, son, always remember: Respect, equality, trust, honesty, and love. A woman doesn’t need anything more than that. Love is last on the list, because if the other things aren’t there, what’s the point of love?)

Vaidaksh: "ye toh main janta hu papa, aapko bachpan se dekha"
(I know that, Dad. I’ve seen it since I was a kid, watching you.)

Viyansh: "aur this world is already very cruel to girls, usme bhi ye cheezein toh bare minimum aur agar hum itna bhi nahi kar paye toh kya fayda aisi existence ka"
(And this world is already cruel enough to women. These values are the bare minimum. And if we can’t even give that much, then what’s the point of existing?)

Vaidaksh: "Don't worry papa, main samajh gaya hu, and thank you so much I love you"
(Don’t worry, Dad. I get it now. Thank you so much. I love you.)

Viyansh chuckled softly, amusement sparkling in his eyes.

Viyansh: "Love you too, my little Jaan."

Vaidaksh: "Papa yaar! I’m not little anymore!"

Viyansh: "Chal jaake ab araam karle aur dimaag ko araam dena, Good night little Jaaaannnn"
(Go now. Get some rest. And give that brain of yours a break. Good night, little Jaaaannnn.)

Vaidaksh: "Good night papa and MERI JAAAAAAN, ko bhi good night bol dena"
(Good night, Dad. And tell my Jaaaaaan good night too.)

Viyansh: "Shup up, you chipku"
(Shut up, you clingy bug.)

Both father and son giggled before ending the call. Vaidaksh smiled, his thoughts lingering on Siyanshi as he looked up thoughtfully.

Vaidaksh: "Even your thoughts calm the chaos of my mind, I think I know ab mujhe kya karna hai meri choti si clumsy girl"
(Even your thoughts calm the chaos of my mind, I think I now know what I need to do about my little clumsy girl...)

Vaidaksh smiled shyly and buried his face in his hand, feeling completely giddy inside.

Vaidaksh: "Damn this new new feeling..."

Vaidaksh ran his fingers through his hair, grinning like a teenage boy caught in the blissful spell of a new crush. That boyish smile clung stubbornly to his face, glowing with a fresh, newfound happiness. With his heart lighter than before, he turned and walked back to his team.

The next two days passed in a whirlwind of activity for the entire medical team. Convincing the villagers about the benefits of the camp was no easy task, but gradually, people began to understand and trust the team. Soon, a steady stream of patients arrived, filling the makeshift clinic with hopeful faces and pressing needs.

The doctors barely had a moment to catch their breath, rushing from one patient to another, addressing ailments, prescribing medicines, and offering comfort. Lunches were often eaten hastily or skipped altogether, and evenings melted into nights without pause. Exhaustion weighed heavily on everyone, and when night finally fell, they collapsed onto their beds almost instantly, sleep claiming them the moment their heads hit the pillows.

Yet, amid the chaos, a quiet, tender connection began to blossom between Vaidaksh and Siyanshi. Whenever Siyanshi came by with food for the team, their eyes would steal brief, shy glances, moments charged with unspoken feelings. What had started as simple gratitude grew into a gentle friendship.

Initially, Siyanshi would politely refuse when Gauri offered to accompany her, but now she insisted, finding any excuse just to be near Vaidaksh and, secretly, to catch a glimpse of Vaidaksh. Though confused by the unfamiliar fluttering in her heart, Siyanshi found herself liking the feeling more than she expected.

Vaidaksh, on the other hand, was more certain. His mind was clear about what he wanted, and he embraced this newfound affection for Siyanshi with quiet joy. Yet, neither of them dared to voice these feelings aloud.

Meanwhile, Krithvik, the team’s resident mischief-maker, was quick to notice the subtle exchanges. Privy to Vaidaksh’s thoughts, he often teased him playfully, nudging the topic whenever they were alone, much to Vaidaksh’s amused chagrin.

It was Monday, the sacred day of Sawan ka pehla Somwar. Vaidaksh had committed to fasting, his heart set on beginning the day with a visit to the temple. The clock barely struck 5 AM when he gently tried to wake Krithvik, hoping his brother would join him. But the night owl, having stayed up until 2 AM, remained deeply asleep, oblivious to Vaidaksh’s quiet nudges.

Unfamiliar with the village and its temples, Vaidaksh decided to seek guidance. He made his way to the sarpanch’s house, knowing the villagers would rise early with the sun. The sarpanch welcomed him warmly and mentioned that Siyanshi was also planning to visit the temple that morning. Vaidaksh can accompany Siyanshi is what sarpanch suggested with a knowing smile.

A surge of happiness flooded Vaidaksh’s heart at the thought. To share this sacred moment with Siyanshi felt like a blessing. He learned that she too was fasting today, which made the opportunity even more special. Gauri, for reasons unknown, would not be joining them, leaving Vaidaksh and Siyanshi alone on this quiet pilgrimage.

The early morning air was cool and crisp as they set out together toward the Shiv temple. Siyanshi walked ahead with a calm grace, her white Anarkali flowing gently with each step, a pure color symbolizing peace and devotion. Vaidaksh followed mindlessly, a soft smile playing on his lips, completely captivated by her serene presence.

He wore a simple white shirt and pants, mirroring the purity of the moment and the spiritual journey they were undertaking side by side. The village was still wrapped in the gentle hush of dawn, and the path to the temple seemed to glow softly beneath the first rays of sunlight.

Suddenly, Siyanshi’s foot caught on a loose stone, and she stumbled, teetering dangerously. Before she could fall, a strong hand reached out from behind her, Vaidaksh’s hand firmly gripping hers, steadying her. She bent forward slightly, caught in the unexpected but reassuring hold.

She turned her head to look back at him, and her breath caught. His face was etched with genuine concern, eyes scanning her with a tenderness that made her heart skip. Slowly, he reached out, gently placing his hands on her shoulders to steady her completely, his touch warm and careful.

Vaidaksh glanced down at her feet, making sure she was balanced and unharmed, his brows knitting briefly in quiet worry.

In that moment, Siyanshi felt utterly lost, lost in the way he moved, in the way his concern softened his usually composed features, in the way his eyes held a delicate vulnerability meant only for her. It was as if a quiet promise was written there, that no matter what, he would be there to catch her whenever she faltered.

The world around them seemed to pause, wrapped in that fragile, unspoken connection, and for the first time, Siyanshi dared to believe that the softness in his eyes was hers alone.

Vaidaksh: 'Siyanshi, aap bahaut zyada clumsy hai, kitna girti padti rehti hai aap"
(Siyanshi, you’re really very clumsy. You're always tripping or falling.)

Siyanshi’s smile faded, replaced by a frown as she looked up at him with an adorable, angry pout. Vaidaksh met her gaze and struggled to suppress a chuckle, utterly captivated by her cute yet fierce expression.

Siyanshi: "Maine kal bhi suna tha aapne aapke bhai ko bola ki main clumsy hu, zara sa pair idhr udhr kya hua aap kya baar baar mujhe clumsy bole jaa rahe hai ha?? I don't like it Dr. Praanpriye"
(I heard you tell your brother yesterday too that I’m clumsy. Just because my foot slipped a little, you keep calling me clumsy again and again, huh? I don’t like it, Dr. Praanpriye.)

Vaidaksh's ears turned a soft shade of pink, almost betraying the calm expression he wore. The way Siyanshi called him praanpriye, the authority in her voice when she scolded him… as if she owned him, had some unseen right over him, it stirred something deep in his chest.

No one had ever scolded him like that before, not with so much familiarity, not with that spark of care hidden behind the words. And yet, instead of irritation, he found himself… smiling. Liking it. A lot.

Siyanshi huffed and turned away, walking ahead again, her anklets chiming with each irritated step she took. But Vaidaksh didn’t mind. He walked a few steps behind her, hands in his pockets, his smile refusing to fade.

To anyone watching, it would look like a scene from a timeless tale, a headstrong girl marching forward and a completely smitten boy following her like she held the string to his heart.

And perhaps… she did.

Siyanshi: "Ek toh Mandir me shirt pant kon pehenta hai kurta nahi pehen sakte the kya"
(And by the way, who even wears a shirt and trousers to a temple? Couldn’t you have worn a kurta?)

Vaidaksh: "I'm sorry Siyanshi, par main yaha traditionals laana bhool gaya isiliye"
(I’m sorry, Siyanshi. I forgot to bring traditional clothes with me.)

Siyanshi: "Achcha ji, vaise mujhe nahi pata tha doctor's bhi bhagwan me believe karte hai"
(Oh really? And here I didn’t even know doctors believe in God.)

Vaidaksh: "Bilkul karte hai, kisi ki jaan bachane ki koshish karna humare hath me hai, par uper wale ka sath bhi toh utna hi zaruri hai na... Aur kuch nahi toh ek vishwas rehta hai na ki vo hai toh sambhal lenge"
(Of course we do. Trying to save someone's life is in our hands, but having God’s support is just as important. Even if nothing else, it gives us faith that if He’s there, things will work out.)

Siyanshi looked at him and smiled softly, her eyes reflecting a quiet warmth.

Siyanshi: "Baatein toh achchi kar lete hai aap"
(You sure know how to talk sweetly.)

Vaidaksh: "well, thank you so much, Miss."

Vaidaksh gave a playful, dramatic bow, earning a soft giggle from Siyanshi. To him, that gentle laugh was the most melodious sound he had ever heard in his life.

Vaidaksh: "Vaise Sarpanch ji bata rahe the aap yaha bas ghumne aayi hai, toh vaise kya karti hai aap??"
(By the way, the village head told me you’re just visiting here. So what do you do?)

Vaidaksh had asked casually, just to keep the conversation going, not wanting the moment to end. But the sudden shift in Siyanshi’s expression didn’t go unnoticed. Her smile faded, and a distant look took over her eyes. Vaidaksh immediately sensed the change in her mood. His own smile faltered as concern crept into his gaze.

Vaidaksh: "Hey, I’m sorry, I just asked casually. It’s okay if you don’t want to answer."

Siyanshi: "I am looking for a job.. well vaha dekhiye Mandir aagaya"
(I’m looking for a job... Anyway, look, we’ve reached the temple.)

Siyanshi quietly walked away, her steps quickening as she reached one of the flower stalls. She started picking marigolds and rose petals, carefully selecting the offerings, avoiding even a glance at Vaidaksh. Vaidaksh, now certain that his words had unknowingly touched a sensitive nerve, didn’t waste a second. He immediately followed her. His heart was slightly restless, worried he might’ve hurt her unintentionally. He came to stand beside her, gently placing his hand near the basket of flowers, and softly said.

Vaidaksh: "Siyanshi, I’m really sorry. I seriously didn’t mean to hurt you."

Siyanshi: "It’s okay, Dr. Praanpriye. I’m not offended. Relax."

Siyanshi smiled gently and blinked her eyes, silently telling him that she was okay. But Vaidaksh’s heart wasn’t convinced. Something about the way her smile didn’t quite reach her eyes gnawed at him, but he chose not to push. Not right now.

He quietly picked up a basket of flowers, bel patra, and other items for the puja and walked beside her. They entered the temple compound, the cool stone beneath their feet grounding them, the air thick with the scent of incense and faint echoes of temple bells.

She was walking a step ahead, her dupatta slightly swaying behind her, brushing against his hand every now and then as if tethering him to her without words. He followed her silently.

They reached the sanctum where the ancient Shivling stood, bathed in soft sunlight pouring in from the top. Together, they stepped forward. Siyanshi carefully offered the flowers and bel patra, her fingers trembling slightly, perhaps from the emotions she was holding back. Vaidaksh followed, his movements steady but his eyes occasionally drifting to her face.

When they had made their offerings, both stood side by side before the Shivling. They joined their hands, closed their eyes, and prayed. The world around them slowed. The murmur of devotees, the temple bells, the birds outside, all faded into a sacred hush.

In that moment of silent prayer, standing inches apart, their hearts spoke louder than any words.

Siyanshi (in mind): "Shiv ji, pehle toh thank you mujhe yaha tak laane ke liye.. par ab aage kya ye main nahi janti, kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai kaha jau... Agle somvar aapki puja ke baad magalvar ko yaha se chali jaungi... Kaha jaungi kaise jaungi kuch nahi pata, abhi kya kya sehna bacha hai kuch nahi pata par aap par bharosa hai bhagwan ji please mujhe raasta dikhaiye, ab yaha se aage Jo hoga use aapki marzi samajh ke apna lungi, achcha bura chahe jo Ho ab sab aap par chod rahi hu"
(Lord Shiva, first of all, thank You for bringing me this far… but I don’t know what lies ahead. I have no clue where to go. After Your Monday prayers, I’ll leave this place on Tuesday. I don’t know where I’ll go, how I’ll go nothing is clear. I don’t know what more I’ll have to endure either. But I trust You, God. Please show me the way. From now on, whatever happens, I’ll accept it as Your will, good or bad. I’m surrendering everything to You now.)

Vaidaksh (in mind): "sabse pehle toh thank you bhagwan ji is zindagi me liye... I know main aapka shaitaan bhakt hu jab dekho kuch na kuch mangne aa jaata hu... Par vo sab toh bahaut choti si cheezein thi na NEET me rank, best college me admission and all.. par aaj jo mangne aaya hu uske baad shayad kabhi kuch nahi mangunga bhagwan ji... Toh Hey shiv ji agar mere dil me sachchai hai aur main inke liye sahi hu toh inhe meri zindagi bana dijiye, jaanta hu zyada samay nahi hua hai inse mile, par dil me ehsaas hai ki inke siwa aur kisi ko dekh nahi paunga kabhi, ab jo hai yahi hai... Bas itna sa kar dijiye.... Achcha haa haa, inki bhi Jo ichcha hai vo bhi puri kariyega mujhse pehle... Par haa agar aap mujhe bhi kisi tarah bata de toh main bhi inko ichchaye Puri karunga.... Aur... Ummm zyada mangunga toh aap naraz ho jayenge, ab baaki ka next Monday mangunga okay thank you."
(First of all, thank You, Lord, for bringing her into my life... I know I’m one of those mischievous devotees who always comes to You asking for something. But all those were small things, NEET rank, best college admission, and all that. But today, what I’m asking for… after this, maybe I’ll never ask for anything again. So, Lord Shiva, if my feelings are genuine, and if I’m the right one for her, then please make her a part of my life. I know it hasn’t been long since we met, but my heart says I won’t be able to see anyone else beyond her. She’s the one. Please, that’s all I ask... Oh, and yes, please fulfill her wishes before mine too. But if You could give me a sign of what her wishes are, I’ll try my best to fulfill them. And... umm... if I ask for too much, You might get annoyed, so I’ll save the rest for next Monday, okay? Thank You.)

Siyanshi (in mind): "Aur ha ek aur baat... Ummm voo shiv ji aap toh sabke man ki baat jante hai toh aap mere man ki bhi baat jante honge na, please meri help kijiye mujhe nahi samajh aa raha hai ki main inme kho kyu jaati hu?? Kyu mujhe ye meri sari problems ka solution lagte hai, kyu bina jaane ye mujhe itne achche lagte hai, kyu inke aage meri heartbeats out of control ho jaati hai... Please bata dijiye"
(And yes, one more thing... Umm, Lord Shiva, You know what’s in everyone’s heart, right? Then You must know what’s in mine too. Please help me, I don’t understand why I keep losing myself around him. Why does he feel like the solution to all my problems? Why do I like him so much without even knowing him properly? Why does my heartbeat go out of control when he’s near? Please… show me the answers.)

Vaidaksh opened his eyes and found Siyanshi still deep in prayer, her face serene and almost surreal in its calmness. A warm smile spread across his lips, his heart fluttering with the excitement and joy that had blossomed since he realized his feelings for her. Unable to resist, he leaned in close, respectfully, keeping a gentle distance, and whispered softly into her ear, a playful glint in his voice.

Vaidaksh: "Bas kijiye itna mangengi toh Shiv ji baaki logo ki list tak pohch hi nahi payenge"
(That’s enough now,!if you keep asking for so much, Lord Shiva won’t be able to get to anyone else’s requests.)

Vaidaksh chuckled and the priest gave both of them the prashad.

Siyanshi: "huhh kuch bhi"
(Huh! Nonsense.)

Vaidaksh chuckled softly as the priest approached, offering them both the prashad with a gentle smile.

Priest: "Beta aap dono mandir ki parikrama kar le"
(Son, you two should circle the temple together now.)

Siyanshi and Vaidaksh both nodded in acknowledgment. As Siyanshi turned to leave, Vaidaksh began to follow her, but the priest called out to him and handed him a small packet.

Vaidaksh: "Ye kya hai pandit ji??"
(What’s this, priest?)

Priest: "Areh beta maa Parvati ko chadhaya sindhoor hai, apni patni ko laga dena, ishwar tum dono ki jodi banaye rakhe"
(Son, this is the vermillion offered to Goddess Parvati. Apply it to your wife’s forehead, may God always keep you two together.)

Vaidaksh grinned widely and threw his arms around the priest in an excited, heartfelt hug.

Vaidaksh: "Thank you so much pandit ji"

The priest looked shocked, his eyes wide with surprise, as Vaidaksh quickly pulled back from the hug.

Priest: "ye kya hai putra, mandir me aise karte hai, hey Prabhu, shiv ji kya zamana hai"
(What is this, my child? You’re behaving like this in the temple? Oh Lord Shiva, what times we live in...)

The priest returned to his puja rituals, while Vaidaksh lay down on the floor, folding his hands reverently before Lord Shiva. After a moment of silent prayer, he stood up, feeling a deep sense of peace.

Vaidaksh: "Mumma kehti hai aap sabki ichcha puri karte hai, meri bhi karenge iski hint dedi hai thank you"
(My mom always says You fulfill everyone’s wishes. I think You’ve just given me a hint You’ll fulfill mine too. Thank You.)

Vaidaksh grinned mischievously before running around to the back of the mandir, where Siyanshi was gracefully performing her parikrama. He followed quietly behind her, completely lost in the moment and captivated by her presence. Together, they completed the circle, their steps perfectly in sync as a quiet bond deepened between them.

Siyanshi: "Chale ab??"
(Can we go now?)

Vaidaksh: "Ahh vo pandit ji ne ye kumkum diya hai, mera tilak kar dengi aap please??"
(Uh… the priest gave me this vermillion, will you please apply it on my forehead?)

Siyanshi: "Ji laiye"
(Sure, give it here.)

Vaidaksh gently passed the sindoor to Siyanshi. She dipped her fingers into the vibrant red powder, while he placed his hand at the back of his head and closed his eyes, leaning in toward her. With tender care, she applied the tilak on his forehead. In that quiet moment, Vaidaksh felt an immense peace settle deep within his heart, while Siyanshi felt as if she had just claimed something truly precious to call her own.

Vaidaksh (in mind): "Aaj se main khudko aapko saunp de raha hu"
(From today onward, I give myself to You completely.)

He opened his eyes and found Siyanshi gazing at him, her eyes filled with unfamiliar emotions and a hint of confusion on her face. He chuckled quietly to himself, recognizing that those very same feelings had been swirling inside him just until the last few days.

Vaidaksh: "Aise kya dekh rahi hai aap?? Bahaut handsome lag raha hu kya aaj??"
(Why are you staring at me like that? Do I look that handsome today?)

Vaidaksh raised his eyebrows playfully to tease her, causing her to blink and quickly look away, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

Siyanshi: "Kuch bhi haa, chaliye ab"
(Hmph! Nonsense. Let’s go.)

Siyanshi started walking ahead, a soft smile playing on her lips. Vihaansh followed closely behind, matching her pace as they descended the stairs together. The morning air was calm, their steps light, until suddenly a tall man, about 5'10", stepped directly into their path. Both Siyanshi and Vaidaksh stopped in their tracks, their eyes locking onto the stranger. For a moment, Siyanshi’s expression shifted sharply, softness vanished, replaced by a fierce hardness. A wave of anger surged through her, evident in the way she tightened her grip on the puja ki thali she was carrying. Her teeth clenched, and her eyes blazed with a fiery intensity that left no doubt: she was ready to confront whatever threat this man posed.

Siyanshi: "Tu.."
(You...)

Just then, Gauri came running from behind, grabbing the man’s hand firmly.

Gauri: "Kya bhaiya, akele chod aaye mujhe"
(What’s this, brother? You left me alone.)

Siyanshi's eyes widen while Ravi smirked at her. Vaidaksh looked at Siyanshi and he understood that something is bothering her.

Siyanshi: "Gauri???"

Gauri: "Areh Siyanshi, inse mil ye mere bhaiya hai Ravi bhaiya aaj hi sheher se vapas aaye hai, aur bhaiya ye meri dost hai bataya tha Ghar me rehti humare,  sheher se aayi hai, Siyanshi."
(Oh Siyanshi! Meet him—he’s my brother, Ravi bhaiya. He just returned from the city today. And bhaiya, this is my friend I told you about. She lives at our place and is from city—Siyanshi.)

Siyanshi’s eyes widened in surprise as Ravi smirked knowingly at her. Vaidaksh glanced at Siyanshi and immediately sensed that something was troubling her.

Ravi: "Namaste Siyanshi ji"
(Greetings, Miss. Siyanshi)

Ravi reached out his hand toward Siyanshi, but she quickly stepped back, keeping her distance.

Siyanshi: "Namaste"
(Greetings)

Siyanshi was still glaring at Ravi, who stood there with an evil smirk playing on his lips. Vaidaksh, standing nearby, had his eyes fixed on Ravi too. The way Ravi was staring at Siyanshi didn’t sit right with him, he could clearly see the discomfort on her face, and it made something stir protectively inside him. His jaw clenched slightly, his posture stiffening as he continued to observe silently, but attentively.

Ravi: "Areh hath toh milaiye Siyanshi jii, atithi hai aap humari"
(Oh, come on, shake hands, Siyanshi ji. You’re our guest.)

Ravi took a step forward, his eyes fixed on Siyanshi, but before he could get closer, Vaidaksh swiftly stepped in. He caught Ravi's hand firmly, pulling Siyanshi slightly behind him with his other hand, shielding her protectively. With a composed yet sharp look, Vaidaksh extended his hand for a handshake with Ravi, standing tall between them.

Vaidaksh: "Hii, I'm Dr. Vaidaksh Singhania"

Gauri: "Aur bhaiya, ye Dactor babu hai, baba ne bataya na gaon me jaach aur upchaar ke liye aaye hai"
(And Brother, this is the Doctor. Didn’t Baba tell you about him? He’s here in the village for check-ups and treatments.)

Ravi looked at Vaidaksh and gave a slight nod, acknowledging his presence and firm stance. But Siyanshi, still behind Vaidaksh, stared at him with wide eyes.

Gauri: "Areh bhaiya, chaliye darshan karne"
(Come on bhaiya, let’s go for the temple visit.)

Ravi: "Haa chalo, Siyanshi ji aap bhi aaiye humaareee sath"
(Yes, let’s go. Siyanshi ji, you come with us too.)

Siyanshi’s expression hardened as she glared at Ravi, her eyes clearly reflecting the discomfort and unease she felt in his presence. Her jaw clenched slightly, and she took a subtle step closer to Vaidaksh.

Gauri: "Ha chal na Siyanshi"
(Yeah, come on, Siyanshi!)

Siyanshi looked at Gauri, uncertainty clouding her eyes. She was confused, unsure of how to react as Ravi smirked at her devilishly, his gaze lingering longer than necessary. The uneasiness in her body language didn’t go unnoticed. Vaidaksh, standing nearby, had witnessed everything, the smirk, the stare, Siyanshi’s hesitation, and it ignited a spark of anger within him. His fists clenched tightly at his sides as he tried to control himself, his eyes darkening with protectiveness. He was finding it harder with each passing second to remain still.

Vaidaksh: "Mr. Ravi aap log chale jaiye, hum dono abhi darshan karke aaye hai aur mujhe inse kuch baat bhi karni hai"
(Mr. Ravi, you all please go ahead. The two of us just finished our temple visit, and I also need to speak with her about something.)

Ravi: "Areh dactor Babu baatein baad me bhi hoti rahengi, pehle chaliye na"
(Oh Doctor Babu, you can talk later too. Come along now!)

Ravi extended his hand again, attempting to reach for Siyanshi, but before he could touch her, Siyanshi instinctively moved even closer to Vaidaksh. Vaidaksh immediately sensed the tension and slightly adjusted his stance, subtly positioning himself more protectively in front of her, his gaze firmly locked on Ravi as a silent warning.

Siyanshi: "Gauri, tu chali Jaa, maine Darshan kar liye, devta ke bhi aur ek danav ke bhi"
(Gauri, you go. I’ve already done my darshan, of the deity and a demon as well.)

Siyanshi said while looking at Ravi, and Ravi clenched his jaw.

Gauri: "Kya??"
(What??)

Siyanshi: "Areh kuch nahi, tu ja na mujhe kaam hai main chalti hu"
(Oh, nothing. You go ahead, I’ve got some work. I’ll get going now.)

Vaidaksh and Siyanshi turned toward each other the moment Gauri and her brother entered the temple. Vaidaksh’s eyes were filled with concern, scanning her face gently as if trying to understand what was bothering her. On the other hand, Siyanshi was glaring at him, her jaw slightly clenched, clearly not in the mood for his soft stares.

Vaidaksh: "Koi problem hai kya?? If yes, you can share it with me."
(Is something wrong? If yes, you can share it with me.)

Siyanshi: "Naam kya hai aapka??"
(What’s your name?)

Vaidaksh: "Vaidak...."

Vaidaksh froze as a sudden realization struck him, his eyes widening in shock. He lowered his head sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. Seeing his reaction, Siyanshi raised her eyebrows expectantly, silently asking for an explanation.

Vaidaksh: "Umm Dr. Vaidaksh Singhania"

Siyanshi: "Aur praanpriye kiska naam hai??"
(And who does “Praanpriye” belong to?)

Vaidaksh: "Kisi ka nahi, Krithvik ne mazaak kiya tha aapke sath"
(No one. Krithvik was just joking with you.)

Siyanshi: "Aur aapne us mazak ko continue karna theek samjha, am I correct??"
(And you thought it was okay to continue that joke, am I right?)

Vaidaksh: "Yaar Siyanshi, I'm sorry vo toh bas aise, vo sab chodiye aap ye bataiye ki aapko us Ravi se koi problem hai?? I could sense something was off between you two."
(Come on, Siyanshi… I’m sorry. It was just, let that go. Tell me this, do you have any problem with that Ravi? I could sense something was off between you two.)

Siyanshi: "Whatever it is, it’s my problem. So please stay away from me, Dr. Vaidaksh Singhania."

Siyanshi spoke and then turned to leave, her steps purposeful yet distant.

Vaidaksh: "Ouchhh.. pehli baar apna hi naam itna chubh raha hai"
(Ouch… For the first time, my own name hurt so much.)

Vaidaksh murmured softly to himself as he watched Siyanshi walk away, then quickly broke into a run, chasing after her.

Siyanshi: "Vaidaksh, naam toh pyaara hai, bilkul Dil aur chehre ki tarah, jhatt se mere man ki baat samajh gaye, par jhooth bhi bola hai.. ab batati hu main"
(Vaidaksh, the name is lovely, just like your heart and your face. You instantly understood what I was feeling. But you also lied… now I’ll show you.)

Siyanshi murmured softly to herself as she kept walking. Soon, Vaidaksh caught up and fell into step beside her, matching her pace silently.

Vaidaksh: "Achcha aapka phone milega ek minute"
(Okay, can I borrow your phone for a minute?)

Siyanshi: "Excuse me??"

Vaidaksh: "Trust me kuch nahi karunga, aap khud bhi dekh sakti hai, please"
(Trust me, I won’t do anything. You can check it yourself. Please.)

Siyanshi frowned for a moment but eventually unlocked her phone and handed it over to him. Vaidaksh opened her contacts, quickly saved his number under the name "Vaidaksh," and handed the phone back. She looked at him, puzzled, silently asking why he’d done that.

Vaidaksh: "I know kuch toh problem hai, you can call me anytime agar kuch bhi hua toh, and guest house bhi pass me hi hai, aap kabhi bhi aa sakti hai okay??"
(I know something’s definitely wrong. You can call me anytime if anything happens. The guest house is nearby too, you can come over anytime, okay?)

Siyanshi’s heartbeat fluttered with a strange, comforting warmth at Vaidaksh’s thoughtful gesture. A gentle smile threatened to break free on her lips, but she stubbornly held it back, quietly taking her phone back without saying a word.

Siyanshi: "Thanks but no thanks, kyuki ye jo jhooth bola hai na uske liye gussa toh main hu"
(Thanks but no thanks, because I’m still angry about the lie you told.)

Vaidaksh: "gussa insaan usse hi hota hai jise vo pasand karta hai, aur hum toh ab dost hai na"
(People only get angry at those they care about… and we’re friends now, aren’t we?)

Siyanshi: "aap mujhe bilkul pasand nahi hai"
(I don’t like you at all.)

Vaidaksh: "Maine pucha aapse??"
(Did I ask?)

Siyanshi: "Youuuuu....."

Vaidaksh chuckled softly and started jogging away, prompting Siyanshi to chase after him, her giggles filling the air. Eventually, he dropped her off at the Sarpanch’s house, reassuring her once more, “I’m just a call away if you need anything.” Siyanshi nodded with a shy smile. After seeing her off, Vaidaksh headed back to his guest house, his heart lighter than before.
